| Specification: Well the great news is that Sony's new console will indeed support DVD movies, which should easily justify the price of the unit. It has also been styled to fit in nicely with your home TV, Video and Hi-Fi setup. Unfortunately, the first consoles will not ship with a modem, although there is a PCMCIA slot in the machine ready for one of those skinny 'credit card' style modems to be inserted at a later date. Hopefully the popularity of the Internet in both the USA and Europe will convince Sony to include this option with the PS2 launch in these territories - We guess that much will depend on how successful the Dreamcast online facilities become. Sonys Announcement: Heralding in a new age of digital entertainment, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. have at last announced the launch details of its revolutionary computer entertainment system, PlayStation2. Building on the success of the worldwide best-selling PlayStation game console with hardware shipments exceeding 60 million units, PlayStation2 is designed to bring together movies, music and games to form a new world of computer entertainment. Supporting both the audio CD and DVD-Video formats, PlayStation2 offers consumers a wide range of music and video entertainment options.
