Playability: Capcom is the standard developer when it comes to fighting games. With an impressive pedigree you should expect the best. This also comes on the heels of another Capcom / Marvel crossover. So maybe my expectations were very high for this game. What has made Capcom games a step above the rest is the feel of their games. In M vs. C however I thought the combos were overly hard to execute, but the individual strikes were simple. The overall game play was also a tad slower than expected. The responsiveness of each character just was not up to par as in previous titles. Character execution was a bit slow and this made the title suffer. You get to choose one of fifteen good guy characters from either the Marvel or Capcom universe. Then you get to pick an ally from either the main menu or a list of characters in a supporting sub menu. This supporting list consists of more heroes from both realms. During fights you can call your ally and perform single support moves or combine your efforts for a cooperative attack. The game has two main modes of play. As a one player adventure you battle random characters until you fight one main boss. After defeating the boss you unlock various pictures in a gallery dedicated to your hero. You also get to watch a short story ending sequence for your character. The one player mode was very simple. No hidden bosses. No secrets to unlock. Maybe I'm missing something? The most fun for any fighting game is the head to head combat. The controls for a character's special moves were simple enough to execute. This turned out to be a good party game for the less experienced fighters as fighters had simple joystick combinations for attacks. The ally's support attacks were also easy to execute (sometimes a little to simple). The ally's attacks seemed to be a little cheap at times but two can play at that game.
