Setting the Scene

Setting: The wild west (and I do mean WILD!), The Year: 1879...You are a bounty hunter on a mission; Rescue a young child that has been kidnapped from some settlers and taken to the town of Silverload. As you begin your journey, you begin to uncover a dark secret that the townsfolk there have been trying to hide...mainly the fact that most of the towns inhabitants are Werewolves and Vampires! I think the game designers came up with a good concept here...A Horror/Western game...Hey, it works for me!

Genre

This is a point and click style game.

Graphics

The graphics are what really make this game. Rich and colorful backgrounds set the mood. The backgrounds and characters have been digitized and animated. This adds a depth and realism that is not normally found in this type of game (usually point and click type adventures have a static background such as Discworld). There are also several types of cut-screens...At certain points in the game you are treated to FMV clips of your surroundings. This is actually incorporated very well into the game. There is also a very nicely done 3D/first-person style shooter ala "Vitura Cop style" that pops up now and then.

Sounds and Effects

Completely appropriate. Spooky background noises embrace the eerie tone set by the graphics. Sound effects are used sparcely but at the proper times. Tastey. The voice acting is kinda well done too. It's funny, your character sounds just like Clint Eastwood mumbling to himself...

Playability

If you like point and click/puzzle solving type games, you will love this! The story is deep and well thought out and most importantly, the puzzles make sense. This is not intended to mean that they are easy though! Some of them are downright brainmashing. Now the downside...due to the fact that this is a puzzle-style game, it is quite linear. Once you get finished with the game there is little reason to go back and play again (unless you just want to show off the great graphics to your friends).

Value for Money

Tough interface at first but you get used to it rather quickly. Awesome Graphics!!! Better than average voice acting. A unique combo...Horror/Western theme...Give us more!!!
