Setting the Scene

As soon as you start up this game you can tell it's the best fighting game, hell, the best game ever made!

Genre

Sequel to the original Tekken beat-em-up.

Graphics

The minute and a half intro is probably the best in a video game. The game even has endings for all 25 characters in the game!

The graphics in this game are better than the arcade version! How Namco made the graphics look this good will be a unsolved mystery! The intro and all of the endings run smooth and aren't pixilized at all! Because of having all of the fighters in this game they took out the character select screen from the arcade and made a screen where you can actually see all the fighters that are selectable.

Sounds and Effects

Namco have somehow managed to improve on the already brilliant arcade machine sound for this console version. You can choose original or arranged soundtracks. As far as the sound effects are concerned, you can really here the bones cracking when you do the multi-part throws.

Playability

During the conversion of this game from the arcades, Namco have managed to incorperate some origional and cool options.
As usual you get to change the number of rounds you play, time of the rounds, and configure the controller to suit your needs. And every time you get a secret character it saves it for you automatically.

One thing you'll notice through out the game is there is virtually no loading time at all! With all the fighters in this game having almost all different moves, I expected to wait forever to play.

They have added a practice mode where you can learn all the moves or practice combos! Throughout the game you can pause it and pull up a command list of all the moves and combos for that character.

Another addition is the team-battle where you pick up to 8 people to battle it out verse a friend.

You can also see the different records for each mode including win percentage for each character, the number of times you have used each character, how far you have lasted in survival mode, and what your record time was for beating the game in time-attack. Because of the practice mode it's easy to learn all 25 characters in the game. That makes it a good game for anybody, not just people who worship fighting games like me.

Value for Money

If you don't have a PlayStation or are considering getting one, this is the game you want to buy it for!

This game take the PlayStation to a new level of excellence. The graphics are the most fluid and detailed yet seen. The gameplay is even hotter than the original. Added fighters and game modes make this a game you will play over and over again.
