Setting the Scene:

Ashley Winchester belongs to a military brigade called the musketeers. He is a young man defending his town of Meria. Recently monsters and other evil creatures have been wreaking havoc across the lands. Being young he has ideas of what a soldier should be which conflicts with reality. He has strong convictions and is guided by an incessant righteous spirit. When Ashley is ordered to leave men behind to die, he knowingly disobeys his commander and risks life and limb to save them. Armed with a huge bayonet Ashley destroys anything trying to stop him from completing his objective. Even after saving his men Ashley is reprimanded for disobeying a direct order. And against all logic the young hero is selected for a special force - Agile Remote Mission Squad, or ARMS.

Lilka Eleniak is a young girl just learning the ways of magic. She is clumsy, sometimes scatterbrained, but always has a cheery disposition. She is the younger sister of a great sorceress. Haunted by an inferiority complex Lilka goes out to develop her strengths and become a great sorceress in her own right. She wields magical rods that shoot elemental projectiles. Ready to search for adventure even if she does not know where to go.

Brad Evans is a battle hardened soldier in a time of peace. When in his element he is an expert in explosives, unmatched in firearm skill, and just one tough warrior. These skills where developed and honed in the Slayheim Liberation Army. During war he used his ferocity and obliterated the enemy. He was a role model for other soldiers. But in a time of peace he is a man living in uncomfortable times. Now he is a war criminal who escaped from a high security prison.

These three lives are now set for a collision course where destiny is the driver and their fate is controlled by you. Each must find their path, each will contribute their individual skills, each must do their part to save the world.

Sound and Vision:

During a time of Final Fantasies and other RPG's, this latest installment disappoints on a visual and audio level. The graphics aren't bad, they just don't live up to the current standard bearers. If this game was released a couple of years ago I wouldn't be complaining, but we live in the present where we expect great things, especially from this much anticipated game. The game does allow for a controllable camera view in the 3D rendered dungeons, towns, and land. But the graphics are average and the movie scenes are only fair.

The music remains in the background and doesn't really stir up any emotions when battling various creatures or solving any puzzles. The story calls for a lot of conversations and the lack of voice-overs hurts this title. The normal summoning sounds are conjured along with the average weapon slashing and pounding.
