LOOK AT THE LEVEL:

At the start of each new world, there is a demo tape taking
you through the world.  This can be very helpful sometimes
when you must search for a specific object/objects.

MAX CAN HELP:

Get max and set him on a rotten egg and leave him on it.
He'll collect eggs for you while you're out running around!!

HAVE A GOOD LOOK AROUND!!:

This might sound really obvious, but every time you come to a new section,
have a good look around the area. You will often see things that you miss
when running around, like there are two ice walls in the Whoforest.

EASY PARCELS:

Many parcels can be collected without the Grinch going near them.
Either send Max to collect them or simply shoot at them with your egg launcher.
This is worth trying later in the game.

USE YOUR EGG LAUNCHER IN DOWNTOWN:

Once you have found all the blueprint pieces for the egg launcher. Use it
to hit all the children and you will recieve a hidden present and the
children will run away. You can also use it to break all the ice walls in
downtown whoville for more hidden presents!

COLLECTING GREEN AND NITRO EGGS:

in any level, especially when you are using the rocket spring often, if
you run really low on fuel (eggs) it is much faster to send max out to
collect eggs. he is much faster and easier to manuver.

SWING TO LEDGES EASILY:

Wait until the Grinch's feet are just above the ledge/pole you want to get
on. I have tried this many times and it works always if you get the timing
exactly right.

ROTTEN EGG LAUNCHER:

You can shoot the "blue" presents with the rotten egg launcher
(not the gold ones though)to break them apart and get points.
This is good for those presents that are out of reach for the moment.

Shoot the clock to make it advance to 8.00 so you can get in the building.

After taking the paint can from the painter, he'll land on top of the main
Christmas Tree - shoot him while he's on top of the tree and you get a
present.

Don't forget even though you can shoot the people and get presents,
you should also breath on them to get goodies also!!

Use the egg-launcher to break open boxes underneath the music notes which
will hurt you, this will save your life!

THE POST OFFICE :

In the post office walls there are holes that say that you are too big.
Use max to fit in there and to open the doors so that you may shuffle the
mail.

CLOCK TOWER:

here are some things that took me forever to figure out. hopefully they
help you a little.

-downtown whoville
If you can't figure out how to get inside the clock tower (030), use the rocket
pack to boost up inside and he will grab onto the handle and open that
overhead door. - to modify the mayors statue you need to get the
sculpting tools. they are in the safe in the room across the hall.
pancake flop the safe..
Just jump over the security system. dont try to shoot the red light.
shoot the clock to change it to 8 O'Clock

STOP THE MUSIC:

  For making it easier to get the gifts below 
the music boxes in the Downtown area use the
same technique proven and tried in the Powerplant;
just use the Slime Shooter on the speakers the 
same way you did with the security cam/cannon things,
once done they stay clogged for a few seconds so you 
can flatten those golden gifts without a problem.

NOTE: watch for proper punctuation; it won't get you trhu
the game faster, but it will make it easier for others
to use your cheats ;-)

HOW TO GET THE PAINT:

In downtown whovill when you get across the bars there is a who. To
kill him you haf to stand in the middle of the two loose boards and 
do a pancake he will get flung all the way to the big christmas tree
and he will leave be hind a paint can.Later you can find him clung to the
top of the tree then you can kill him by shoting him.

COG PUZZLE:

1st Floor
In the clock tower push the levers until the trap door opens 

2nd Floor
Push the brown block onto the dropped platform
and then activate the switch again.

3rd Floor
First pull the block back and climb on top.
Push the big red cog into the wall.
Now put the block onto the platform.
Move levers to work the lower spindle.
Now work the upper spindle.

4th Floor
Send Max into bedroom and grab hammer.
Important... check the sequence of colored bells on the wall chart.
Power jump up to the bells in sequence.
Smack bell ringer over head to finish.

TO MODIFY THE MAYORS STATUE:

(You have to have the sculpting tools)- you have to turn off the
security around the statue first.  Breathe on the invisible fence
and it will appear green so you can see it.  From there you can
now do 2 jumps and hit the security button and shut it off and sculpt
away!

CITY HALL:

Go downstairs and enter the room.  Try to pull on the curtians,
one on eash wall will pull open and pop out a blueprint piece.
I am still looking for other pieces but can not find many.  They are
hidden very well.  Once you get the egg launcher and the binoculars, the
rest of the pieces are just so hard to find.  I would be very happy if
someone would post the locations of the harder pieces.

GETTING BY PATROLING GUARDS:

When entering the City Hall you need to get by at least one guard 
to make it to the Mayor's statue. If you take the right door (either will
do) enter and stay to the left, and hide behind the first support beam.
Then call Max. Wait until the guard passes the Grinch, then put Max in the
way of the patroling guard. This will stop the guard from moving. Then the
Grinch can roam free!

WINDOWS IN DOWNTOWN:

one window that may be very hard to find is where you land out of the
transporter into Downtown Whoville.  soon as you come out of it - look
straight up (use your binoculars!) and you will see it.  it's very hard to
miss!

HOW TO GET CIVILIAN CLOTHES:

next to the town hall there is a cop sleeping sneek by him and go inside,
inside you will find the pile of clothes. Change inside the phone booth.

Use your slime gun to get presents from Cop in front
of City Hall, Guard inside City Hall and sleeping

POST OFFICE/CITY HALL:

You can't go in the post office without a disguise.
You'll find the "Who Cloak" in the clock tower.
When you get in the post office you will see a hall to your left,right,and in 
front of you. 
Cindy-lou is in the hall in front of you. If goto her she will follow you around 
like a gnat. Send Max out to see which door is which. The doors are color coded.
Sneak the Grinch over to the door that color and then take max 
into the room that door leads to. Press the button
and quickly move the Grinch into the door. Shuffle the mail. You 
must leave number 5(gray) last! Also that peice of
paper Cindy-lou was holding was a blueprint.You will find it at the 
door when you leave.
In City Hall the best thing to do is to go down the stairs first and open
the door. Go through the door and you will find columns. Try to move them.
2 of them contain blueprints. Go back upstairs and open the door. You will
see 3 poles. Sneak behind one then when the time is right sneak to the
other one. The next one is hard to go to without being caught so will have
to time it right. (TIP: If you are at one of the doors and he catches you
go on in and he will leave you alone.) Do to the front door that is
visible first. Move the bookshelf then pull out the safe. Pancake the safe
and get the tools. Sneak out to the door in front of you and blow your bad
breath. You will see the motion detectors. Jump over them and stop the
queen detector(so to speak).MODIFY!MODIFY!MODIFY!

WHOVILLE GARBAGE TRUCK:

To stop the garbage truck - put max in front of it and it will stop.
Go to the back and shoot an egg at it.  It will explode and you get
a sleigh piece!

ADVANCING THE COUNTDOWN CLOCK:

Sneak back into the tower and use the ROCKET SPRING to jump up and
open the hatch.

>>1st level-looking at the levers standing in front of the switch
>>(from bottom to top): right, left, right (move each switch)

>>2nd level-left, right, left (the lever closest to the switch also
>>moves the one in the middle so you won't need to move the middle
>>lever). This will lower the platform. Push/pull the crate onto that
>>platform, then switch the lever closest to the gears and that should
>>raise the platform, which will drop the crate onto the other
>>platform, which will open the next hatch.

>>3rd level-standing in front of the big, pink gear looking at the 3
>>levers on the left (from bottom to top): left, left, right (you

ESKIMO:

Shoot the Christmas Tree Eskimo Guards - this will knock them out
for about 4 seconds so you can go breath on the trees to make them droop.

GUYS IN GREEN:

Those guys in green that freeze shoot you can be killed by sliming them, 
then breathing over them. You get a present for each.

SWINGING ON BRANCHES:

If you are having trouble timing your jumps from
branch to branch to get to the high ledge, trying
lining up with the tiny branches sticking out of 
the ones you are swinging on.  Jump when the Grinch's
body is lined up with one of them and it will work.

THE ICE STEPS CAVE:

You actually CAN'T get to that ledge using the ice steps... 
If you look at the wall to the right of the ledge with the blue print, you will see a 
couple lines of snow. Go to the last, lowest bridge, and you will be able to jump to 
one of them. They are actually ledges you can hold on to. There are 2, one sticks out 
a bit and one is flat on the wall. When you jump to one (I think I used the rocket 
spring for the higher one that sticks out), you will grab the ledge and hang from it. 
That way you can walk to the blue print with your hands! 
It's so easy, it's ridiculously hard!

WHO-FOREST BEAR NECCESITY:

To make the bears go away so you can get the bee-hives to
put in the houses - shoot a bee hive in the tree and the bear
eats it and starts shaking the tree for more - at this point breathe
on him and he goes away and leaves you a present.

SHOOT TARGET:

To make the trees droop breath on them (took me forever to figure
that out)
When you get up those swing poles shoot the target on the
house on top of the tree, will lower a elevator

hopefully this helps a little. not much but it gets you started once the
narrator quits talking...

SLIME BEES:

Dump bees in chimneys get the whos out of the houses. Go back in the
houses and get blueprints one house the bees will not sting you they are
around a box slime the bees with the slime shooter you should have all the
prints to build it out of the houses.Once the bees are slimed butt pound
the box to get the access card for the ski lift.

GLUE AND WHAT TO DO :

To find the glue you first have 
to find the wall with the sticks sticking 
out that you have to swing on. Swing up until 
ontop of the wall. There is a sliegh 
type of thing and then walk past it to a 
ledge ( follow along mountain walls until 
egde because you might go off wrong 
one. Go down and there should be another ledge. There should be a ice wall
blocking the glue and egg plant. Shoot it with egg launcher and grab it.
Go back onto the legde with the sliegh thing. You have to get ontop of the
sliegh and poor the glue in the hole.


GUY BLOCKING DOOR IN WHOFOREST:

When you go into a cave after climbing a ice wall with octopus device
you'll go to a cave. You have to go up the cave to get to a village and a
bear blocking a door. In the vilage there is a guy blocking the door. If
you go nere he'll punch you away. With rocket launcher aim at chains
holding the sign.Shoot at both chains and it will fall on him.

THE DOG:

Stand underneath the tree with the snow over hanging the fence. 
when the dog walks underneath the snow shoot it.  This traps him. 
Now run around the back of the hut and slime the skies.

FIREWORK CANDLES

To get past the big guy on the door shoot down the sign and it will 
fall on his head and knock him out.

To pass the moose in the hole use the dog to go past and enter
the small hole in the wooden door.

To pass the dancing men first egg the dragon. It will scratch itself
allowing Grinch to pass by. Next sneak up to the ledge and jump
onto first rock. Egg the dancing man until he falls off the ledge.
Do the same to the next guy.

FREEZE..!:

Are the guys in the green coats keep freezing you? You have to use your breath on them. 
But, to avoid getting shot, you have to sneak up behind them just like the cops in Whoville. 
Wait until they turn away from you and then sneak up behind them & breathe on them 
when they turn around.

DRAGON SLAYING:

Those hoof wielding dragon/cow like creatures can be destroyed by getting
the Grinch to breath on them.

SECRET OPENING:

Shoot the robot circling the pipe with a yellow sticker on it
and then butt bounce the top of the pipe. 
Inside there is a red button and a pipe that you need to spin 
around until the centre bar connects to the other end. 
Now get your jet pack on and jump on the button, you are timed 
so you need to hurry out, when the timer starts jet pack out of 
the pipe and pick a tunnel to go down.

PIPES IN DUMP:

When you are in the Who dump you must swing on some pipes and there are
some that you need to shoot. After you connect all the pipes you can
get to that blueprint behind the steam. When you finally get to the last pipe don't forget
to hop the fence and look around.

THE DUMP - MINEFIELD:

You have to slime the thing that fires at you in front of the minefield to
be able to start jumping from pieces of junk to junk.  (make sure you look
up and shoot down all the mattresses first).  You're also timed so you
must hurry.  When your time is up the thing comes back and you have to
slime him again so you can continue jumping.  Just watch the clock and
when you get close to around 4 seconds - get your slime gun ready!!

MATTRESS JUMPING:

When you jump over the minefield the orb that zaps u, cannot get you when
stood on 3 tier barrels? so just make sure you are on one when you
re-slime it.
I tried doing this in one hit (no re-sliming) and done it once.

THE DUMP GUARDIAN:

to get rid of the man who stands on top of the huge pipe that turns off
the electricity so you can leave that room and continue the game you must
aim a nitro egg at wreck-in ball thats held up by the bulldozer.  it will
automatically swing and knock him down off the pipe.

SCISSORS:

When you want to do somethings to the sleeping dump guardian, go to the little shack 
with the bus inside and collect the scissors. Grab them and go into the bigger house.
You must tip-toe up stairs by pushing the triangle button.  When near the sleeping
guard the Grinch will cut his hair and he will flee from the room.

ROBOT PARTS:

to advance in the dump you must collect 9 (i think) parts (not blueprints)
for the grinch's gadgets. the parts look like little brown sleds, kinda.
to find these parts you have to kill the enemys with nitro eggs. the
enemys are the little robots that carry boxes and the hovering balls. once
you get all 9 parts you can get the blueprint behind the  pipes.

PIPES AND PARTS:

The Dump: To connect some of the pipes you have to jump on the little
outstrechted piece of pipe and swing on it til it connects. you might have
to swing the other way to connect.
When you connect nine pipes the steam in front of the
blueprint in the main area where you start will
disappear allowing you to connect the last pipes and the
last computer part needed.

DUMP POWER PLANT:

finally got in to the power plant!! take blue tunnel to power plant wall
and slime two cannons on the wall. then you can use octopus climber to
climb wall. once in, fog policemen, use elevator to reach top of first
tower, turn off power line by shooting green switch on tower, then use
power line to get to next tower. use max to trip timed switches. blow on
switches to unfold windmills, then jump from windmill to windmill to reach
main power plant. that's where i'm stuck. i'm at 50% and can't get across
the bridge at who-lake

POWER PLANT GROUNDS:

In order to cross the power lines in the first area you have blow on the fan activater, get up 
on the platform then slime the green button then quickly shoot it with your egg launcher. 
Then proceed to the next plantform do the same thing.
The next thing you have to do is have max step on all the buttons to open the electic 
fence, you are timed. Then there is another room, do the same thing.
 
Finally you get to a huge area where there are huge fans, well at the bottom of each you 
have to blow on the activators. 
You have to climb back up where you dropped off at, use the big boxes and go to the 
edge, step onto the fans to make it over to the other side.
Next you need to slime and shoot the green button to turn the line off  to slide down it,  
but before you slide all the way over, you have to slide and drop down into the electfied 
area to slime and shoot the green button, you have to climb back up to the line and slide 
all the way over and go into the building, you are timed.  
Now have to find all the buttons to turn off the power plant...

THE POWER PLANT SECOND TO LAST STAGE:

Well this confused me and took me awhile but you don't
have to drop down in the middle of the electric wall
all you have to do is go to slide all the way over on the
line and the turn around and aim at the green button
then shoot it with the egg launcer it says you have 50 seconds
to fool you because it only takes about 5

THE POWER PLANT:

Once you are actually in the power plant, you will 
find that some of the walls are electrified.  To
climb them, shoot them with the slime shooter and
then use the octopus climber to get to the top.
Be careful because the slime does wear off and
you will be electrocuted.

THE POWER PLANT FINALE:

To climb up the power plant follow this guide.
First slime the guys with the electric poles. This allows you time to walk 
across the floor without getting electrified.
Sliming the electric walls allows time to climb up them using the octopus
device.
To switch off the electric force fields and live cables look for a green switch.
They are hidden all around the level and although most are fairly easy to dicover
some are intricately hidden from sight. 
The best way to get through this level is to use your binoculars and egg launcher
on EVERY SINGLE platform. This way some of the switches way on the top levels
can be switched off long before you get there. The toughest switch is the one right
at the top but it can be hit from the second lowest level (which is where you fall if
you get electrified..

EXTRA PRESENTS:

the easiest wayto beat the men who electricute you! 
Slime them, run right up to them and before there 
unslimed breathe on them and they'll give you a 
present! walla!

NOW BOARDING:

When you are in the area with the rats and the tunnel 
that leads to May-Who's house, use the rotten egg 
launcher to knock down the boards that are hanging from
the cranes.  If you don't do this, you won't be able to 
infest the Mayor's house with rats!

RAT CHASE:

Use Max to get the rats to follow him to the tunnel that leads to the Mayors house.

AWAY MY MOUSIE FRIENDS!:

when i tried to get the mice to the tunnel that leads to the mayors house,
i found that a couple mice would not enter.  to get them through the hole,
push select to return to the Grinch.  then, run at the mice.  they will
try to get away and will run into the hole. Mission complete!

SLIMED, OR EGGED?:

In the Dump, it is much more productive to shoot robots
(especially the round ones) with Nitro Eggs.  If you slime
them, they will eventually come back to life.  But if
you shoot them with Nitro Eggs, they are dead for good.

WHODUMP LOCATION OF PIPES:

Location for Pipes:  (This is what I used to find them)

1.  after you enter, go left. there is one that the ball robot is
circling. (swing on the rod that sticks out). 2.  keep going left, past
the blue pipe and there is another one. 3.  there is one in the pipe that
sticks out of the ground (in the main area) 4.  in the green pipe area
there is a T shaped one by the wrecking ball. (shoot an egg at the T) 5. 
there is a T shaped one in the pipe hole in the green area 6.  rat area.
push this pipe in. 7.  as soon as you enter the blue pipe area, look up.
8.  there is one in the pipe hole in the blue area 9.  there is one more T
shaped one in the blue area past the electric fence.

THE FINAL PIPE:

The final pipe you need to connect is the one beside the chess board house. 
Mess around with the three switches until you transfer the steam into the house. 
There are a few combinations so don't give up.

CHESS PIECES:

The chess pieces come later, once you've deactivated the power plant, I think. 
When you come back, the window that you can see from the fence on the house will be 
open and will show you where to place the chess pieces to open the garage door. 
I don't think anything will happen until then.  
You might have to shoot the window to open it up, I'm not sure.

GOODIES:

After you land in Wholake - you have to tiptoe through the cave or the
bats will get you.  Soon as you exit the cave - you need to shoot the kid
on the left by the wall - then climb the wall for goodies!

THISTLES IN YOUR PANTS:

The grinch cannot go in the water without the marine mobile. To
get past the bats sneak past them (walk and hold TRI). To put thistles in
the shorts shoot the porcupine with the rotten egg launcher
and he will drop thistles. Walk over them and shoot them
at the shorts hanging on the various lines hanging around
the lake.

SCOUT COSTUME

Go in the hut on top of the mountain (where you swing up on the branches)
After entering the chimey, you'll see a guy eating, walk up behind him &
breathe on him. He will start shooting at you, stay away until he reloads
and then breathe on him again and you'll get his hat. Then breathe on him
again and do the pancake move on him. He'll fall down and you can get his
shirt. He will now start to charge at you, get underneath the moose head
so he'll run into the wall beneath it. When the moose head drops on him,
you'll get the scout uniform!

THE ROPE:

In mayor's villa area - jump onto the platform that looks like a scale.
Pancake it a few times. 
The boat will raise up.

1 is behind the house where you send Max in to turn him into a skunk

THE HOOK:

The hook is across the waterfall in a cave and you can get there without crossing 
the branches.
If you have the booster to boost up two levels of the rocks and then when you cross there is 
a scout that flies off and floats out above the water and when you get his scarf along with 
The three other scarfs then you can go into the cave and the pirate will give you his hook.

WHOLAKE SCOUT SCARVES:

To get the Scout Scarves:

1.  the scout on the tree stump - to knock him off, set up the
log contraption so the log is pulled back (swing on the bar
to get it going), then shoot down a beehive and run over to
the switch on the ground and jump on it to knock him off off
the stump.
2.  the scout standing on the dock - breathe on him and move
toward him until he falls off.
3.  the scout past the waterfall - you can use the Grinch
Copter or soon as you get near him start to breathe on him
(thatís how I got him).  Heíll take off flying and then crash
like an airplane when you do this Ė (itís cute)
4.  past the pirates cave toward the shore - breathe on the
scout until he falls in the water.
5.  up above the mayor's villa (you have to have the Grinch
Copter to catch this scout) you'll need to get in front of the scout
so that the fence opening is behind him. start to breathe on him
then slime shoot him. keep on doing this until he falls off.

UNDERWATER:

Once all pieces of the Marine Mobile have been collected (the hardest must be
swinging over those poles after sounding the hooter) you get to play underwater.
Nudge the cows to get them grazing where the boxs are.
Smash into flat walls to open up two secret areas. The first has a ship inside so
you need to rise to the surface and leap into the pointed rock. The second has
a bell like shield and again leaping from the surface of the water to strike the
target releases the shield.
Catch and capture the glowing sea creatures by chasing and touching them.
Don't forget to leap out over the waters surface to collect extra parcels.

SKUNK:

After passing the bridge, to the left is a skunk.  Up on a hill is a house
that you need to send Max in.  While collecting the goodies(Blue print and
presents) he will be painted black and white from the paint on the table. 
Max has to approach the skunk and she will fall in love and follow him. 
Max needs to take the skunk to the guard (right of the RV and garage) to
scare him away.  You will then be able to sink 3 boats with his drill,
blue print and a heart.

MOOSE PRESENTS:

MOOSES HEAD:

At the " Wholake", collect the three eggs if you wish and you across the
cable suspended bridge to the little island. Look for the swinging poles
and uses the rocket to power jumps you up and grab the first lowest poles.
Then swing ups the other poles and your must be careful not to fall when
you grab the next higher pole.  You have to do the swinging up the poles
all over again.  You may fall into the lake as you fell and swallow the
filthy fish and choke yourself to death.  

Once you reached the top, you will find a house there. Do a rocket power
jump up to the top of the roof and jump down into the chimney.  You will
find a scout devouring a plate of food.  Walk up to him and breathe on
him.  He will get mad and start sling shot at you. Dodge the stones that
he slings shoot at you.  After 3 shots he will reach in to his pocket to
get more stones. When he does that quickly run up to he and breath on him.
 He will faint and drop his hat. You then collect his hat.  He will wake
up and sling shoot at you again.  Again dodge all his shots and after 3
shots make quick run up to him and breath on him to knock him out of
action.  You then do a pancake flop on him and his shirt will drop off.
You collect his shirt.   By this time, he gets really mad.  He will start
charging at you.  You should try not panicking (like I did).  The trick is
you just have to run towards one of the moose heads on the wall.  You wait
till he gets pretty close to you and you make a quick jump to the side. He
will ram into the wall underneath the moose head.  The moose head will
drop on top of him and on his head.  You then take his short and exit the
house through the fireplace.  You have got yourself the useful Scout
Costume to continue to create more mischief and fun.

10 BIRDS:

After getting new mission to build a sleigh, you 
must shoot 10 birds in 10 seconds just past the 
bat cave in Who Lake.  First gather maximum rotten
eggs. Use Max. Run around for plants, but I believe
its worth the time to allow plants to plump up 3 times
before getting them. 
  My tip: Don't waste your shots everytime.Let the
10 seconds go by and don't shoot if you have only 
a few birds after 4 or 5 seconds. Accept to shoot 
again and you might find that the birds flock 
thickly for easy shooting.
