A. General Stuff

* The upgrading system is much like the original's(G-Gen) but there is a
new option, kaizou(改造). What this does is it makes the unit able to be
leveled up to 99, the drawback is that you can't upgrade the unit anymore.
You can only do this when the MS/MA is at ACE level.
* You can rent pilots in normal situation modes. To get a certain
character, obtain its corresponding MS.(Duo Maxwell=Death Scythe)
* As like the last version, you can kyouka(強化). It enables your character
to be able to use psycom weapons. BUT you rank up slower. I don't recommend
it.
* Featured Works.

* If you ACE the guest units you can upgrade them to add them to your

(Most of the following in this section is done by JL Lee)
TENSION

Remember the MPs needed for the psycom weapons in G Generation? Now
they have been given a little variation. As usual each starts with an
individual MP level, but now they have gagues to determine their
Tension Level.

For starters, they do not begin with maximum MP, but around half. Most
pilots start with green, which is normal tension. As you progress in
the Stage, your pilots' MP will change accordingly to their actions on
the field. If the unit gets hit while dodging or misses, the pilot's MP
will decrease. On the other hand, a successful dodge or a kill will
increase his/her MP till it reaches max. Do remember that psycom
weapons and the like will still reduce MP. Units with MP below half of
max will recover to that point while resting in the base ship, and the
base ship captain can recover MP at occupied healing points.

The Five Levels of Tension

Cho-tsuyoki(超強気) - Max MP - Critical hits with some weapons (esp. close
range eg. Claw, Beam Saber), lower hit percentage, lower evasion
percentage.

Tsuyoki(強気) - Red Zone - Higher damage, lower hit percentage, lower
                         evasion percentage.

Futsuu(普通) - Green Zone - All normal

Yowaki(弱気) - Blue Zone - Lower damage, lower hit percentage, higher
                         evasion percentge.

Conran(混乱) - 0 MP - Cannot counterattack, higher evasion percentage

BONUS STEP

In other words, the winning step.

This is probably the system that can help you ease out of the most
difficult situations, making the game become quite easy at times.
Whenever a unit other than a base ship makes a kill, it is given a
bonus move. Combined with the tension system it can turn a single unit
into a group killing machine, given the energy restraints. For example,
a Hyper Tension Gundam Mk. V unit can take out an entire group of Rick
Doms all by itself, leaving the base ship to a few others to cut down
its HP before it finishes the group. Ouch.

You'll find it very useful in training up the units, and save a lot of
trouble resetting all the time, which is why the original game took so
long. You will also find it essential in a few of the stages,
especially those with time limits.

Now each pilot has new stats. They are:
Fight - As it means, short-range attack (1 sq. attack)
Shoot - AS it means, long-range attack (2+ sq. attack)
Evade - Evasion skill (duh)
Leadership - For captains and group leaders. The higher the stats, the
greater the base ship control area, as well as group
             control area.
Operating - How good you are as an operator
Driving - How good you are as a Driver
Engineer - How good you are as an Mechanic
Charisma - This stat also increases the group level, which
in turn increases base ship control area and group control
           area.

The Bridge Crew
You can place 4 pilots on your mothership to increase stats.

Operator - Increases Accuracy
Driver - Increases Evasion percentage
Mechanics - The higher the stats, the higher the HP recovery rate for units
 resting on your mother ship.
Guest - Affects group level and the MP refill rate.

Some of the pilots have extrodinaty ability in either of the above
skills, some have naught. The thing is that the skills may increase in
accordance with rank. Do note that as bridge crew the other members
earn less experience than the captain, so you must remember to bring
them out to earn ranks before putting them back in again.

Okay then, on to all the commands found in the game.

                        GAME COMMANDS

STARTING SCREEN

After pressing start, you will see a screen with the following commands:

Start Game - Start a mew game
Load Game - Load the file where you last completed a stage
Contimue Game - Load the file that you saved in while playing a stage

Easy enough. Once you choose start game you will see a further group of
commands:

Situation Mode - Starts Scenario 1
Campaign Mode - Choice of 3 single maps, one each for G, W, X
Battle Match Mode - 1-4 player map battle, 15 maps to choose from
Options - options (duh!)

If you choose load game you will also see the above choices, except
that when you choose Situation Mode you will automatically start at the
stage where you stopped at.

Under options you wil see the following:

Profile Mode
Sound -Stereo/Mono
Vibration -On/Off (not much diff.)
Theater Mode
Series Ending

Profile Mode lets you see all the units you have placed in your factory
at least once. You can also view the unit profiles at the intermission
screen. This will work only if you have loaded your save game,
otherwise you will see only the starting units.

Theater Mode lets you view all the CG movies of G Generation, provided
that you have the disk, as well as the CG movies you have opened up in
the course of the game. This also works only if you loaded the save
game, otherwise you can only see the opening movie.

Series ending is just to let you see the endings to each of the major
parts of the storyline, also works only with the loaded save game,
provided you have cleared one of the series.

INTERMISSION SCREEN

At the beginning of each stage, except for Stage 1, after the introduction
of the stage, you will see the intermission screen. Since it's all in
English there shoulden't be any problems. I'll be listing some of the
important points.

Customize - You can add up to 2 points to the UA/UD for a Ace unit.
However this means that the unit can no longer Model Change
in the future. This usually is for those who have no need
to change or cannot change models anymore.

Stage Map - Shows you the maps for the mext stage. Or rather, the FIRST
part of the next stage. Yes, now some of the stages are
multi-parts, usually involving an event bonus which I will
explain later. If the maps have white squares on them it
means that you can put a group there. This is extremely
important as in some of the stages you don't have a Home
Base, and if you forget, you will be playing the stage with
            only the Guest units.

Rental - Uh huh, now you can RENT soldiers to help you in your fight.
For every Tech Level you increase you get a higher ranked
rental soldier, even a Newtype soldier. However, this contract
will last for only one stage. If you are lucky you might even
make money in this venture, explained later. You can even rent
some of the creators of the game......After you have cleared a
series you can rent Characters as well to aid you. Do note
that at certain times some will not be available, eg FG (First
Gundam) Amuro Ray during Z Gundam stages. But strangely enough
you can rent FG Bright Noah......

Factory - You start with 16 slots for units in your factory. The amount
of space in your factory will increase by 4 for each increase
          in Tech level.

STAGE COMMANDS

When you press Start button during Blue's phase (that means YOUR turn) you
will see these commands:

Pass - End the turn
Mini Map - View all maps in mini size, units in dots
Square - On/Off
Battle Anime - On/Off
Vibration - On/Off
Profile Mode
Mission
Save - Saves your current progress, still as slow......

At each part of the stage your mission will be displayed in yellow.
Probable Events are noted in blue. in case you don't understand, I'll
be explaining them in the walkthrough. The Mission screen will display
the winning conditions, losing conditions, and the stage event bonus,
which will normally lead to another map that you were not able to see
in the intermission screen.

The default winning conditions are:
1) Conquer the enemy Home Base (where possible)
2) Elimminate all enemies
3) Others

For 1, you will get 10,000 capital. For 2 you will get 20,000 for each
colour eliminated, and for 3, this is usually the main mission.
Completing this without eliminating all enemies will net you 30,000.

For occupation, each occupied place will net you 1,000

Event bonuses give 5,000, quest demos give 15,000

STAGE CLEAR SCREEN

Also English commands. I'll only be explaining the new items

Exchange - You will gain additional capital if the Character and any
Rental soldiers you have gain levels or ranks. The amount
you get differs for different ranks. Therefore a rental
soldier who gains 2 ranks will normally net you more than
what it cost you to get him.

Convert - Puts Ace units in your factory, adding to your profile list.
This works also for Guest units, and this option will become
useful later on. HINT: GP-01 does not have any links, and no
changes lead to it, therefore to get GP-01 you need to let
Kou kill enough to let it become Ace during the 0083 stages.
You also gain money for Kou's rank advancements, though at
your own personal characters' and units' loss.

REMEMBER: To get a unit in your profile list you need it to be listed in
your Factory!! This is different from G Generation, where once you get a
unit, it will automatically be included in the list. However special
enemy/player units will still be added, since there is no way you can
get them.

How to capture Enemy Units

First you must see if the enemy MS is connected to its mother ship. Press
Circle on an enemy unit and if there is a red area, then it is captureable.
Destory its corresponding mother ship. Then the MS should hold out a white
flag. Get one of your mother ships with an empty space near the MS you want
to capture. Then choose the Kaishu(回収) option and highlight the enemy
unit and press circle.
If your mother ship gets full you can drop captured units at your base.
