Well folks, after day one of karate I am plain flat out pooped!! I'm actually enjoying it though. School hasn't been too hard yet. The only thing school oriented that is hard is finding a printer.

" class="inlineimg" /> At my old university if I couldn't print from home, I could just head over to the commuter lounge or the library or the computer lab. Basically, they had TONS of outlets for printing. My new school doesn't have that. In fact, I don't know what will happen if I can't get something to print from home.
Today I had my EASY A classes which were Chorale, Theatre and Karate. All of those the only thing I have to do is show up! Anyway, I learned half of my first kata today which was called pinon nidon. It actually feels nice to have some sort of control over my body when I'm getting ready to fight. Whenever I'd get in fights before I would just lash out my kicks from my incredible legs and usually nailed when I wanted. It would hurt my foot though. Anyway, so today we learned our first kata as well as our first situation of an attacker.
The girl I teamed up with was really friendly and she was telling me about how her and her boyfriend would spar. I told her that I didn't think I'd spar with my boyfriend cuz I'd be too afraid to hurt him. She promptly replied, "no no no! He took martial arts growing up so we just do that as one of the things to make us both happy." Phew! For a second I thought she was meaning she would fight with her boyfriend all the time. uhm??
Anyway, my body feels really limber now. Almost as if I could rotate my legs around in a circle like I can my arms. I like this feeling. Maybe I'll test for rank at the end of the semester.
Well, I really should get off to bed. I have work at the wee hours of the morning. 6 AM!! ah!!! It's not too bad though. The only problem is I'm gonna have English tomorrow and last time I went to english it was fun..but just plain awkward.
Seeing as how I'm coming from a private university, one would expect that anybody who was in my classes..specifically english classes would be very very studious and diligent. In fact, it's been a long time since I was the nerd in the class of 30 or so students. Well this last class session we did peer editting of our essays which are due tomorrow...and I handed my paper around and recieved NO COMMENTS at all. I heard several mistakes from my reading it out loud, but nobody wrote out anything.
I gotta say my essay sounded better, but it actually had nothing to it. So tonight was spent just beefing it up a bit. Next time we have peer review though, if I don't get any comments again I'm going to just ask the professor. I'm sure she could come up with a lot of things to say about my essay.
Tomorrow will be interesting for sure.
Oh, and on a side note..the boy and I are going on three years of dating next week. I've made reservations for dinner at seven o clock on thursday. It's not on the actual day..but it's as close as we could get. He has finals next week and I have class till 10...so hanging out after class isn't particularly feasible.
One other thing worthy of mention, then I will trail off to sleep..is that my mom and I outlined the budget needed to orchestrate a trip to a convention in the summer. My friend and I are intending on going to the Gen Con Indy in Indianapolis this August. We're both wanting to meet the Red vs Blue crew and so we're brainstorming. It's totalled out for about 2000 dollars from both of us...so far. I've got a lot of saving to do.
I've already got a headstart though. I'm gonna put my Fed refund towards that. (which is already about a fourth of the way there.) Maybe i'll stick a hundred in there every week and see where I come out.
Anywho, things are great. Hope you all are well.
You probably won't hear from me for another few days, but you won't be too distraught I'm sure.
