Being a hero optional

This is an initial review of this game, so hopefully I witter on too long.

Tell you what I’ve been look forward to this game since the first trailer I saw of it late 2007 early 2008, seeing the trailer I just had a gut feeling this game was going to be a top top game, and in short it was well worth the wait.

The synopsis of the game is that an explosion of some kind has decimated part of a fictional city and game’s central character, Cole, who you control got caught in the blast and seems to have acquired the ability to control electricity. Due to the government quarantining the explosion area the city has gone to hell and crime is high and people are dying. A group of ex junkies have taken over the city and seem to be caught in a turf war and have no qualms about killing innocent people in the cross-fire.

Cole is left with the decision to either try and make a difference and save the city for the people or to try and save the city for his own gain. Will he become a Hero or will he become infamous….?

There is a lot more to the storyline than what I’ve described but I don’t want to give you any spoilers, but suffice to say, if you have access to a PS3, then you need to look at buying this game, it is essentially Assassins Creed met GTA4 and Drake’s Fortune, it is a must have game.

Normally I go into depth about the next few things, but I’ll keep it short and sweet, but once I’ve completed the game, if I complete the game I shall post a full review…

Gameplay:

Gameplay for me is about just picking up and playing the game and this game, for me was a little sluggish at the beginning and very restricted, but once you got though the initial bit, then it opened into a fantastic open world which you could pretty much just explore.

Content:

This is essentially the storyline of the main game and online content. For the online, the is none at the moment, but the main game is so far a great storyline and you are not restricted to just following the story you can head off and do side missions.

Simulation:

This is game is great in terms of recreation of a city environment, you can basically go anywhere and that includes the sewers, it is just a haven for Parkour fans, running over the roofs and positioning the camera and jumping off a building, the feeling is sensational

Music:

In a word, “Awesome”, can’t fault the music at all… so far

Graphics:

Absolutely fantastic, the cut scenes are done in the style of a superhero comic book which is just awesome as a comic book fan, and the actual gameplay graphics are just wicked, especially the Electricity and even the water when it’s hit with electricity. The lighting when you in the sewer system is cool, just everything about the graphics so far is 10/10

The Pros

So far it’s looking like a big big game, a fun game and it’s a great way to spend your money and time.

The Cons

If I had to pick one cons so far, it is that the game is addictive as in Burnout Paradise addictive, but is that really a bad thing…..I guess you better put that question to your family and/or partner

so far I’m giving this game 10/10
