Guide to Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix on the PlayStation 2
What makes Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on the Sony PS2 in a way pleasant is the fact that Hogwarts has been entirely re-enacted for the gamer to explore. There are mini games included in Harry Potter PS2 and this can prove to be a pleasant diversion from the game itself. In addition, the music and the voice acting are satisfying.
The story of the game corresponds with the movie and the book. Your character, Harry, discovers that the arts teacher has something against him. Voldemort is threatening again and your character fears that Hogwarts will not succeed trying to put up a defense. Harry, Hermione and Ron team up and get ready to stand up to the lord. This is easy to understand watching the 3-hour movie, and while the 8-hour game is almost 3 times larger than the tale, a lot of things are left out, and this makes Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on the Playstation2 puzzling.
Although you will be able to play the characters Dumbledore and also Sirius Black, this is only allowed for around 5 minutes – to give or take a minute. This results in you controlling Harry throughout the game.
In Harry Potter on PS2, you start with a tutorial, and here you will learn various spells, which will aid you in your quests, and they will seem insignificant at times. Playing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Wii format, with its excellent configuration, makes you feel that you are the one casting the spells, and this makes the game enjoyable. The PS2 loses that touch.
As you progress in Harry Potter on the PS2, you get to learn spells for combat. These you will cast the exact same way as you would ordinary spells. There is no point memorizing these combat spells because there will only be a few points in the game where this is required. This has to be a good idea for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on the PlayStation2. The reason being is that the dueling is not good, and you can’t exactly tell if Harry is hitting a foe.
This should be classified as a spoiler to any Harry Potter PS2 fans, referring to the fighting points in the game, when the last battle is reached; all Harry has to do is stand around and cast the same spell over and over. He does this until a cut scene appears and the battle ends.
Looking at your characters very quickly makes them a mirror-image to their movie characters, and this almost makes you want to praise EA. However, once you move your character around, Harry appears zombie-like.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on the Sony Playstation2 is disappointing, and for a wizard that has taken the world by storm in a brilliantly written novel and well-produced movie.
