British Sandwich Week
  • To celebrate British sandwich week (wooooooooo  )

    Whats your fav sandwich?

MIne has gotta be egg mayo and tomato - For some reason around here they call them Seaside sandwiches (I dunno why either - just some strange north east custom - bit like pease pudding yuck!)

Or cheese and tomato - with Really strong mature cheddar cheese, cherry tomatos and mayo mmmmmmm
  • They have something called sandwich week? Deary me!

Are we talking deli sandwiches? If that's the case then..
Ham, Swiss, Mayo, Teensy bit of lettuce, Tomatos(if they're in season), Pepper and a little bit of mustard on wheat bread.

If we're talking regular sandwiches you make at home, I can't go wrong with a PBnJ sandwich. Brings back memories. :D
  • Can't beat a good old sausage sandwich, with lots of ketchup! mmmm  ;)

Have to say though, first I've heard of "British sandwich week"
  • Ooooo, well if I am going simple... roast chicken, salt, and lots of chunky gravy :P yum

Then... there is the maxi-ubertasy superlicious fish and salad sandwich deluxe heh heh... ok

You can use bread or a bread roll, either one.

Nice Peice of either battered or crumbed fish
    Mayo
Medium thickness slices of Camembert or Bree (yes, cheese)
    Fried Onions
    Barbeque Sauce
    Lettuce
    Tomato
    Beetroot
    An Egg
    Bacon
    Salt n Pepper

    and your done :)

I would rate Janeybobs' egg sandwich at 8.5 /10
and the cheese and tomato... 3/10

    and Red's deli sandwhich 8.5 /10
    PBnJ???? ick... 1/10

and fluffster, nice call with the sausage 9/10

Go ahead and rate other peoples sandwhiches too! Its fun! :)
  • The best tasting sandwich is totally A bacon, peanutbutter and banana sandwich. Unfortunatly I can never eat one ever again cus that would probably kill me, but it sure is good.

On the nail there RedKenny...... PBnJ is still the best home made zarmy around :59:

    From the roadhouse :

    Toasted Bacon and Banana,
    Toasted Cheese and Mince,

But tops has to be a "Blondie" in order of apperence -

Bread, burger patty, egg, bacon, cheese, tomoato, bread, steak, onion, ham, mushroom, bread.

    From the deli :

    Chicken, cream spinich and fetta......

Gad this has made me hungry !

manneman, you are supposed to chew before you swallow :g:
  • Aaah, yes the peanutbutter and banana sandwich is always a good one, Never tried it with bacon though?!! I myself love a peanut butter and dill pickle sandwich.

And then there is the Philly steak and cheese:

    Hoogie Bun
    Cubed Tender Steak
Sauted Mushrooms and onions and green peppers
    Smoothered with Swiss Cheese

All this talk about sandwiches is really making my mouth water and my tummy grumble. Must go make a sandwich!!!!!

Are you kidding me? Your sandwich has hardly anything to it. It just has fish and tons of sauces and you're saying my PBnJ stinks! :o

I give yours a 2/10. With no cookie points.

Of course! I don't eat sandwiches very often, but I gotta say that PBnJ still beats all the home made sandwiches!

Now I'm wanting to go to Quizno's. Gonna go get me my 8.5 sandwich!!
  • i live in the uk and theres no such thing called brittish sandwich week but mine would be ham or cheese :59:
  • Ah the Classic North East traditional Full Stottie, Chips & Gravy! Takes a man and a half to finish one of those babies off!

I make butties from hell, just slice a loaf in half, scoop out the insides, go to the fridge & empty the contents out into the hollowed bread. It gets a bit interesting when you have yoghart, raw eggs & cold pasta in the mix.

Fav sandwich is the BLT with plenty of Mayo!

Never heard of it?? U guys have never lived!!! Or have never watched GMTV lol!!! Its were i do all my most important learning!!
  • Okay, my favorite sandwich recently is a teriyaki chicken sandwich.

    Parmesan roll
    Teriyaki chicken
    Sweet onion sauce
    Pepper jack cheese
    Black olives
    Jalapenos

Add me to the PB&J nation, especially with strawberry preserves.

And I also like a good grilled cheese sandwich. I usually make mine with 1 slice of each; American, sharp cheddar and muenster.
  • My favourite sandwich has got to be my own. :flex:

Toasted bagel, buttered - Sesame, Garlic or Everything
Chicken or Turkey - at least 3/4 of an inch
    Miracle Whip
    Tomatoe
    Lettuce
Onion - only started this in past few years, my how our tastes change, eh?
    Salt and Pepper

Also I enjoy a good sardine sandwich, egg salad and you can add me to the peanut butter and jam group. Speaking of sandwiches I gotta make one for work... see ya!

  • A twist on the BLT :

A BLT with Thousand Island dressing not Mayo on toasted whole wheat bread.
  • Pepperoni/Salami, some Swiss, Black olives, onion, Hot english mustard

Mmm. Hey Lethal, Some of your Sandwhiches sound teh good!
