PlayStation Help

I just bought a ps2 slim from a garage sale, and it wasn't working quite right when I got it. It would play a cd but not, but not a dvd or ps2 game. I did some research and learned that it was most likely my laser, so I replaced it. After replacing the laser, the discs no longer spin... So I replaced the spindle motor... no luck, still won't spin. Any ideas? thanks for any help you can give.
