The vampire levels were fantastic, along w/ the "pit" fight and Mero's henchman, they were my favourite levels. As for Vampires in the movie... There weren't any fanged, blank-eyed, stereotypical "Vampires", but the amount of hints towards them were many. Just take Persephone's plight of being "around for a long time". And of course her use of a gun "who keeps their gun loaded w/ silver bullets." madhtr was right... I own the game and the Animatrix, if you want the WHOLE story, you have to sit through everything. What an incredible marketing ploy.
