Guide to Pirates Of The Caribbean - At Worlds End on the PlayStation 2
Sony has launched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on the PS2. Creators have done a great job when matching the game characters with the movie characters. In addition, just the feel of the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 game on PS2 makes you feel like you are in the movie.
Dead Man’s Chest is the first half of the game, and you play as Captain Sparrow. Your mission is to retrieve the heart that belongs to Davy Jones, and at the same time in Pirates of the Caribbean World’s End on the Sony PS3 you have to avoid the temptation of joining his crew.
Jack encounters Kraken, and in the second half of this Sony PS2 game Captain Jack and his misfits go up against Lord Beckett to recover Davy Jones’s heart. As you play you will come across a few of the movies’ cutscenes, and there are also things that you will do in the game that doesn’t happen in the trilogy.
The control configuration for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is medium and it will take you around half an hour to master the controls and whip some serious butt. You will be playing as Jack Sparrow during most of the game and you will also get the chance to play as Will, Elizabeth and also a few other characters.
Enemies just appear out of the blue, and their fighting is inexperienced compared to the characters in the movies. You’d expect a fight for survival when going up against a mean man, but just a few mashes on that attack button and you’ll be victorious.
The multiplayer game on Pirates of the Caribbean World’s End allows you to take on a considerable amount of enemies, and this is done in a certain amount of time before you reach the next wave. You are able to challenge a buddy on multiplayer, although the inclusion is nice of the creators, it really makes the result of multiplayer not so overwhelming.
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on the Sony Playstation2 and on other formats do not differ much in any way. One will expect the game on PC to have higher resolution, and although the characters are mirror images of the movie characters, their quality is very poor. On the PSP, the characters’ mouths don’t move when they speak.
The audio on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on the Sony PS2 is very unsatisfying. Many would expect to hear the voices of the real movie characters, but credit has to be given to the voice actors. At the end of the day, the audio is solid. The sound effects in Pirates of the Caribbean 3 are good, but they are limited, and they could have added in more catchphrases for the enemies.
You visit too many locations with your cool character, and instead of doing cooler things Sparrow is running in circles waving his sword madly and collecting items. Although you are able to play different characters, there are no new moves involved. They all move and fight the same.
In the end this is yet another movie- based game that under delivers on the potential of the source material.
