"TRUE" SAYING LAST NAME DURING GAME:

michael is either brain dead, totally retarded mentally or doesn't know
jack shit about basketball because as the cheat says: to have the
commentator say your created players name during play, type the last name
of the created player the same as a actual nba basketball Player. to the
best of knowledge there is no nba player with the last name jones-Lee, nor
is there nba players with the last names nautica and phoenix. thus meaning
matt is not a liar and michael is full of shit!

REFEREE CHEAT -- LONG CHEAT BUT ITS WORTH IT!:

you need to have already played three exhibition games in simulation mode
without turning the system off (any teams you want), and you have to win
all three.   go to create a player, insert first name "REF" and last name
"EREE".   he can have whatever you want looks wise (it will change
anyway)except you have to give him eyewear number three and no skills at
all except for defensive and offensive awareness which must be at 99(lower
all the other attributes points to 50) put him on any team you want and
start a game he will be on your team.  you then need to hit two three
pointers in a row without missing with the created player "EREE." the
crowd sounds should mute at this point.  quit the game and restart the
game with any teams you want. now a referee will be running along
sidecourt with the players and handing the players the ball!  he doesnt do
anything else but run and hand players the ball but its still really cool
and adds a lot of realism also you can save your game once you get him so
you dont have to do the process again

HELP TO WIN!!:

When you start the game of your choice, pause the game, and go into PLAY
OPTIONS and go into "rules" and turn every thing down and off Then unpause
the game and Now you can push, shove, and steal the ball without getting a
penalty, and getting easy points.

REBOUNDING:

To get better rebounding and better put back chances on the offensive side
of the ball run any of the motion offenses this allows players to cut to
the basket and if shot is put up while cutting player he will be in
perfect rebounding position this allow backside to crash the board with
out any trouble. TO force more turnovers go to team strategy an put all
things on high and Double team on yes put it on Full court press so that
the players when they go to double team they will rotate to the open man
and this will ensure many fastbreak points and this will help in crunch
time when you are down or up this will help you win the game very easily
and come out with more rebounds then the other team and provide you
players with outsatnding rebounding, scoring, and defensive stats.

ULTIMATE CROSSOVER:

This is to really cross someone up and even make them fall(rarely happens
though). Start by the half court and start walking up to your victim. 
When he starts to play real close just hold the square button and he will
do a great crossover.  The player doing the crossover must be a good
ball-handler like Iverson.  This really works!!

CHECK BALL IN 1 on 1:

While playing in the 1 on 1 option, hold in either L1,L2,R1 or R2, and
press x and you will check the ball different ways.

get 150 points and save your challenge and buy a reward but if you
dont like it dont save it. by this strategy you can try every reward

GET IT ALL!:

in exhibition mode be the clippers and put the computer as the lakers
on the controller select screen put the difficulty on 5 stars. Loose
the tip off and let them score 10 points. Then make the clippers get
20 points in the 1st half. Substitue your best 3 shooters and replace
them with your 1 forward and 2 centres. Then make olowakandi score 10
points in the 3rd quarter. at the end of the game you must have at
leats 45 points and 15 rebounds. The you will hear the commentator say
you have won it all. Then have fun with your new things.

GET STEALS:

double a player backing down and steal the ball from him.this works 
well with small players like derek fisher.

OPEN BASELINE FOR SHOOTER:

give the ball to a corner shooter.just make him hold the ball without
dribbling.call for an isolation(select button + R2).push the shoot button
lightly to make a pump fake.if your defensive man goes up the air.attack
the baseline and your player most likely will get the basket. this works
well with good shooters like kobe.also works everytime in the starter
level.

BEAT M.J. EASILY:

in one on one mode when ever you check him the ball foul him staight away
keep do this over and over and after a while a foul won't count and you
will be able to run to the basket cleanly,also works if you put winners
out on so you get the ball after each time you score.

MJ:

For all of you guys who want MJ on your team, I'm your man.  Go to create
player and make a player with first name M and last name J.  Set the face
on 10, no accesories.  Attributes really don't matter because, MJ's
attributes are default. then exit, go to options turn all the fouls up all
of the way.  Now go into the season option, turn all the fouls down, then
come back out. Save your game. (I know your getting frustrated at this
point but bare with me.)  Go to season, load season.  Go and pick the
Golden State Warriors and put MJ at shooting guard.  (Player lock on MJ)
 Win five games in a row on starter level, go to league leaders. MJ must
 lead, at least
four categories. IF he is, when you enter the fourth game, the commentator
will say his full name, Michael Johnson.  I know this takes a while but
it's worth it after you do this, his attributes, )(especially speed) go up

SUPER STEALS:

when u are playing a game, press start, go to play options then set rules.
when u go to set rules put defensive fouls all the way down and then when
u go back to the game u press circle instead of square on defense to steal
the ball and u knock them on their ass and take the ball when it falls out
of their hands. it works everytime.

DEFENCE:

When you are on defense, on season mode, wait until the player 
on offense stops, then get close to him and press the circle button.
Immedietly after doing that, press the L1 button to pick the ball up. Hold
the R1 button and drive up the court and JAM it! You may have to press the
circle button a few times to knock the ball out.

EASY BASKETS:

If you go directly underneath the basket with the ball and tap or hold
shoot the game will takeover and your player will either jam or lay up
with ease (they really ever miss).  This works on hard mode as well.
