TURBO MODE:
Once you have the dash view, you should have TURBO. All you
have to do is push UP to activate turbo. You have UNLIMITED
turbo's so use as much as you want. All turbo does is it
accelerates you like twice as fast. But be careful, when
you got this, make sure to brake a little on turns and
let go of turbo so you wont smash into the wall.

POLICE HELICOPTER:
Enter the "Game Options" screen and select the "User Name"
option. Then, enter "Whirly" as a player name. If you entered
the code correctly, the phrase "Cheat Activated" will appear.
The Police Helicopter is only available in Test Drive mode.
Note: Enabling this code will disable the option to save your
game.
PHANTOM CAR:
Enter the "Game Options" screen and select the "User Name"
option. Then, enter "Flash" as a player name. If you entered the
code correctly, the phrase "Cheat Activated" will appear. Note:
Enabling this code will disable the option to save your game.
TITAN CAR:
Enter the "Game Options" screen and select the "User Name"
option. Then, enter "Hotrod" as a player name. If you entered
the code correctly, the phrase "Cheat Activated" will appear.
Note: Enabling this code will disable the option to save your
game.
AMERICAN POLICE:
Enter the "Game Options" screen and select the "User Name"
option. Then, enter "Bigoven" as a player name. If you entered
the code correctly, the phrase "Cheat Activated" will appear.
Then, American cops will appear in all countries in Hot Pursuit
mode. Note: Enabling this code will disable the option to save
your game.
DASHBOARD VIEW:
After selecting your car, press Start to load the race, then
before the loading screen appears, immediately hold Up +
Triangle + X. Continue to hold the buttons until the loading
screen disappears.
BONUS CARS:
Complete Hot Pursuit mode with each police car to get a new
car (BMW M5, Corvette, Porsche, Caprice and Lamborghini).
MEMORY CARD MONEY TRICK:
Note: Two memory cards are required for this trick. You need
to own at least one car and have enough money ($20,000) to
buy a new car. Once this is accomplished, copy the Need For
Speed 4 file to another memory card. While both memory cards
are in the PlayStation, race in the High Stakes mode and have
player two intentionally forfeit at the beginning of the race.
Player one should now have two of the same car. Copy the
saved data to the other card again and repeat. You can then
sell all your cars for a large amount of money.

CATCHING THE BAD GUYS:
In Hot Pursuit mode, play as a cop in any police car.
While chasing speeders turn off your siren(by holding
L1 and pressing up) until you have the speeder slowed down.
This will help you in chasing them because the speeders
drive slower when you don't have the siren on.

DRUNK MODE:
After selecting your car, press Start to
load the race, then before the loading screen
appears, immediately hold Up + L2 + R1.
Continue to hold the buttons until the
loading screen disappears. The screen will
now be blurred, with ten cars appearing
in place of one.

CAR TRICKS:
This isnt really a cheat but on certain
parts of race tracks like on big
hills and mounds you can get up enough
speed and do backflips or spins in the
air for instance on the
Route Andorif Track there is a big hill
on the right side of the track get up
enough speed and hit it
right and you can do backflips or spins
in the air plus after the race you can go
through replay and watch it in upclose mode
and see the screen spin its really cool.

EXTRA MONEY:
You need to have a memory card with a High Stakes save. You
also need a car. Go to High Stakes mode and race. You do not need
someone else. All you have to do is switch the memory cards back and
forth a couple of times and then it is time to race. Make sure that
you put the memory card back in the No.1 memory card slot. Forfeit
the race and then you sell the cars. You can do this as much times
as you want.
RACING ADVICE:
This isn't really a cheat its just some advice on how to win races.
Basically, Never Use The Brakes!!!
It may sound stupid, but it works wonders once you have mastered it.
When approaching sharp bends or U-turns, just ease off the gas
and feather the button untill you are around the corner.
It doesn't take long to master and works really well on the wet
courses.
Incidently, its far wiser to use the Corvette and the
Porche 911 (fully upgraded) on the 4th and 5th tournaments.
They hold the road much better and unlike the Ferraris and
the Diablo don't steer like you are on a skating rink in the rain

USE THE SIGNALS AND LIGHTS:
Hold L1 and press LEFT or RIGHT to use the turn signals.
Hold L1 and press DOWN to turn on the headlights.

SLOW CPU CARS:
Select Tournament or Special Events mode. A
fter selecting your car , press Start to load the
race, thn before the loading screen appears ,
immediately hold Left+Square+Circle.
Continue to hold the buttons until the loading screen disappears.

DRIVE ANY COP CAR:
go to options and select user name.
enter your user name as NFS_PD
now you can drive any police car on any track in pursuit mode
{ note you have to put the _ in there}

To fool the bad guys turn off your sirens and when you get near them turn
them back onthen you can catch them

press and hold L1 and up and you can us 4-way flashers

HOW TO ENABLE TORBO MODE.:
As soon as you chose your car press and hold up,x,and triangle until
the guy says go. That gives you turbo. Press up to use it.
