GAIN TATSUMARU:

At the Stage Select screen: 
Hold Circle & Square then press 
R1, R2, L2 L1, Up, Down, Left, Right,Select 


HEALTH RESTORATION:

Pause game, hold CIRCLE, and press left, right, up,
down.  This will restore your health.

ABOUT HEALTH RESTORATION:

In other versions of the CD (Australian or European) the health
restoration cheat is done while holding SQUARE instead of CIRCLE, followed
by the same sequence of directional buttons; left, right, up, down. 
Ofcourse the game must be paused first.

BEWARE:

when you pause the game and do the health restoration cheat (hold sq,
l,r,u,d) it will count as being seen!  This will seriously effect your
score!

REVEAL MAP:

To show the whole map you must hold select and r1 then press circle 5
times.  This will show the whole map but as soon as you let go of select
you will have to do the cheat again.

ENEMY CONFUSION:

One of the best ways to kill an enemy is get close to a wall with your
back to it. When the enemy is close, jump backwards into the wall and
press the jump button when your near the wall, this will flip you over the
enemies head and put you facing their back, then just kick their
backsides!

during the level, "to save a princess", do not use the health code or you

CROUCHING STEALTH KILLS:

While crouching, you may get the different stealth kills.

You don't need to draw your sword to perform a stealth kill.
just get close and do it as you would if your sword was unsheathed.
this makes running up to guards easier...

ARMOR-KING STRATEGY:

when playing as armor king, grapple your oponent into a suplex throw,
while he holds up his oponent,press rp+lp,d,d,rp+lp. reapeat 4 times to
win without being hurt

QUICK TIP

In the first level of tatsumaru you must go to the top of the roof of the
biggest house in the middle but you must come from south side then use
your grappling hook to come on top of the building

DISTANCE STEALTH KILLS:

Find the blowgun, and you can use it to kill enemies quietly in one hit.
For Rikimaru, it is located in the Temple of Dreams.  For Ayame, it is
located in To Save a Princess.

HIGH JUMP:
 
If you are in certain levels (Quarantine Village, Laborers), you do not
need a grappling hook to get on to the roof of a house. Run up to the
wall, face it, and jump. Your character will jump twice the normal height
of the usual jump and land on top of the roof without hanging on the side.

SAVE YOUR HEALTH:

If you're spotted, just hide. It's not worth wasting health just to be big
and kill them in a bloody fight. Note the AI is dumb and you can usually
just hide behind a tree and they'll forget about you. Then you can go for
the jugular in a stealth kill.

DECAPITATION STEALTH KILL:

i have only done this twice so far.  it requires timing.
to lop your opponents head off, try running with weapon drawn.
at the last minute hit square while still running.  the 
animation is the same as stealth kill #1 but the head comes off.

JUMPING STEALTH KILLS:

Keep your sword in your sheath and jump above an enemy. On your way down
push square to preform this kill

way to kill your enemy by tripping him up.:

You have to sneak behind your enemy and hold L1 then press SQUARE

BONE SNAPPING STEALTH KILL:

To do the bone snapping stealth kill for Rikimaru ONLY,
get an enemy from behind andrun into to an enemy and 
you'll see the ki meter change from regular (?) to the 
alert thingy (!?).  Then press square and it should do 
the bone snapping kill.

HIDING IN BUSHES:

If you are having problems getting close enough to a moving sentry, look
for a bush to hide in.  If you are directly in the middle of the bush no
guards can see you, even if they are right next to you.

SWORD OUT

On a mission that requires stealth always have your sword drawn because if
you don't you often bump into them and of course the mission ends in
failer.

STEALTH KILLS:

Rikimaru
for an easy stealth kill approach the enemy from behind without being seen
and hit SQUARE to slit their throat.

For a medium stealth kill approach the enemy from the side without being
seen and hit the SQUARE to cut the throat, then stab in the heart.

For a Difficult stealth kill approach the enemy from the front without
being seen (or approach from behind and wait for enemy to turn to face #
you - must be timed correctly) to stab in the stomach and slit up to
throat.

For a very Difficult stealth kill see DECAPITATION STEALTH KILL from
drifter.

BEING AWARE:

while comiting a stealth kill always keep an eye on the kill meter in the
bottom left as you may be near another enemy and u could be seen. if so
the best way is to imediatly hold R1 and role away from your enemy.

A FEW COOL STEALTH KILLS:

A cool way to kill someone is to sneak up behind him, and double tap UP
and press SQUARE.  He should stab him in the back.

Another way is to grapply hook on a high place, and either wait for
someone to com close to it or attck him with a SHRUIKEN or something and
lure him near you.  Then jump on top of him  and press SQUARE.  The guard
should get sliced.  This very difficult but cool.  I suggest you practice
first. 

An easy way is to sneak up behind someone and jump, and while coming down
press SQUARE.  It's very gory, but I won't tell you how it looks like. 
Find it out by yourslef!

Note that these are kinda hard, so don't give up!  :)

STEALTH  KILLS:

There are quite a few different stealth kills, ranging in difficulty.

Easy stealth kills:
Come up fom behind and press square.
Come up from behind, crouch and press square.

Medium stealth kills:
Come up from the left, and press square.
Come up from the right, and press square.
Come up from behind, jump and press square.
Come up from behind, turn back to back and press square.-(does not work
for Tatsumaru).

Hard stealth kills:
Sneak from the front, and press square. (Or sneak from behind and wait for
them to turn into you- must be timed perfectly). Run up from behind, keep
running while you press square, they should be decapitated. (does not work
for Tatsumaru).

KILLING THE MOUNTAIN BANDIT LEADER:

On the first level after training, when u get 2 the Bandit leader, just
run up the ladder onto the wooden structure. The leader wont know where u
r and the meter will turn 2 !?. He will turn around looking 4 u so just
run down and slash him and then get back up before he can get you.

TATSUMARU STEALTH KILL:

wait a couple steps behind a person, when he/she turn 
almost around double tap up and hit square you should
slit his/her thoart ( it should go into a movie shot where 
it looks like it froze)  bllod should come from there necks.
