As madhtr stated, unless you are very adept at electronic repair, and have the neccessary tools, it is best that you avoid repairing the bad port yourself.

Hot solder is magic in the hands of the experienced…but a evil enemy for your circuit board(s) if one is not careful.

Unfortunately, it may be cheaper to purchase a new PSone, after the cost of parts, labor, and shipping.
