As a dedicated site of all Sony consoles, we aim to bring you up to date news about anything and everything relating to Sony consoles.
Well, I'm here to release some information that I was told yesterday.
As everyone on this site knows, I've had a PS3 pre-ordered since last June.
Anyway, I was contacted yesterday relating to my order. This is what I was told:
Apparently, Sony ARE doing console bundles at launch.
The bundles will include the following:
- The 60GB PS3
- Two Bluetooth controllers
- The Blu-Ray Remote Control
- and a Sony game, the choice of which will either be:
- Ridge Racer 7
- Resistance: Fall of Man
- Formula 1 Championship Edition
- Motor Storm
The other surprise was that the bundle will NOT include a cable to connect it to your tv. Now we obviously knew that we weren't getting an HDMI cable but we thought we would at least get the basic Component Cable and Scart connector.
Sony's reason for not providing a cable of any sort? Apparently, people own so many different tvs that it would be difficult to provide a cable suitable for all. So, instead of giving you a choice of cable, for free, you will have to buy one seperately at a price of at least £12.99 (GBP 12.99).
So the total cost of a PS3 at launch?
£499 for the bundle and £12.99 for a cable coming to a grand total of £511.99.
Now as a reminder, I must stress that this is what I was told. As of this moment in time, Sony have not officially confirmed whether this will happen.
However, as the UK launch is now only 6 weeks away, it is looking more and more likely that this could be what happens.
