It is probably a safe bet that there will be a sequel considering the openings left at the end of the first game and the fact the original Resistance sold over 700,000 copies in North America alone.
Still, nothing official said by Sony yet and nothing was seen at the last few game conferences/ expos about one. If it is coming expect it to be in the November 2008 area.
