Keep yourself locked on to him at all times with L1- when he charges and the screen blurs you should hold left (or right, depends a bit on the angle you are at) and the circle button at the same time, not just tap. You should be into the slo-mo dodge this way. Then, once the red aiming spots line up hit with a blast of the R1 button.
