No need to shout, Martin, we aren't deaf (yet).

The problem would be between where the battery connects and the connection to the motherboard of the PSP. The only way to fix it would be to open it up and have a look inside. If this doesn't sound like something you are confident in doing yourself you may be able to find a local electronics repair shop that could check it out.

In the end it may be easier to contact Sony's tech support and pay them for a replacement.

Bigger question is, did you know it was broken when you bought it or did the seller say it worked? If he said it worked fine in his description you could contact eBay about him (as well as Paypal if you paid through that) and maybe get your money back. If you did know it was broken, why buy it?
