| How will that work when i switch to ps3 with my HDD on my ps2 playing final fantasy 11 will i just need to keep my PS2 for that reason only or does Ps3 offer anything?

| To make the PS3 100% compatible with the PS2 and PSone Sony ended up installing the main PS2 processor inside of it. This means that every game (in theory) WILL play on the new console, however, Square have not confirmed exactly how they will get around the problem that you mention, so I would advise that you keep your PS2 until this has been resolved. |
