My psp left keypad is stuck in the down position when i try to get on the internet and whiles playing games but works just fine while selecting files for videos and music and just navigating around ???soon as i try to play game it is constantly in the down motion ...same with internet ...will not let me choose a link or anything ???

Sounds to me like the contact underneath the pad might have reached a breaking point. You might want to contact Sony's support line and see what they say. The number to call is 1-800-345-7669.

There is a possibility that you might just need to replace the buttons. If that is the case then lots of stores sell replacement sets for a few dollars.

If Lyndon is correct, this wont fix the problem, but if it is just a damaged button, then this will solve your problem.
