Default Cant connect to network with PES06

I've just created a user here just to get some help.

I've bought PES 06 and a network adapter for my playstation2, but I can't seem to connect to the network games.

The same error keeps comming up: unable to transmit using udp port 3658 (or sometimes another)

I've search the internet for a solution, have only found a few and they were to complicated.

So i'm hoping that someone who's realy smart to these things, or maybe someone who has experienced it, will take some time to guide me through it...

Thanks

I take it you are using a router to share your net access to the PS2?

What you need to do is go into the router set up on the computer and look for "Port Forwarding". When here put that port number in the blanks provided and select UDP in the small menu beside that. Make sure you select to enable port forwarding and save those settings.

You're far from alone on that end so it's no biggie. Now, the line coming out of your cable modem, is it going into another box or directly to your computer? If another box then that is the router. What it does is allow more than one thing online at once with no slowdown in speed, letting you go online with the PS2 while leaving the computer able to go online.

The set up page is gotten to by typing a particular IP address in the web browser address bar- if you don't know it have a look through the quick start guide or other documents that came with it.

What it is depends on the brand of router you have- each one uses a slightly different IP. It should look something like 192.168.0.1 (this is the IP for D-Link brand routers, Linksys is 192.168.1.1, don't forget to put http:// in front). As I said you can find this in some of the documentation that came with the router.

Once you enter here it will ask for a log in- if this hasn't been changed it will be "admin" (minus the quotes). Again, this varies with brand- D-Link asks for it in the username blank while Linksys uses the password blank.

Once you are in you will go to the Port Fowarding area (just click around the tabs, you'll find it eventually) and do what I outlined above.. If you are still having problems let me know what type of router you have (brand and model, it's on the front) and I'll try to give specifics on where to click.

I've just checked. I have a D-link. But i've tried to enter "http://192.168.0.1" in the webbrowser, but the site can't be shown.

I do not think I have the documents that came with the router

mm, ok- they must use several diferent Ips for the various models. What is the model number on yours? You'll see it on the front of the router to the right of the port lights.

From what i can find on D-Link's site that is a switch, not a router- does a similar function but not as well as a router would. Also, I could find no sign of that particular model- there is a 105 and 1105 but no 1005.

If this is the case you may have to consider picking up a router to replace that switch. They are relatively inexpensive and are more secure than the switch is in regards to firewalls and other items that are standard practice now with broadband connections.
