i fought the stone king for the ring of stone, he disappeared then re appeared but now won't fight and i do not have ring. *must i *start over?? or am i not doing something right.

Have you checked your inventory? You may have already picked it up, or it may be waiting for you to pick up near where you first met him. If not, I don`t know what to suggest. I`ve not heard of this happening before.
