Hi, I am stuck in the great crystal. I want to get excalibur and the zodiac estucheon.I have checked other forums and have done what they suggest which is "to get to xx platform that have the two sealed saggitarius gates and go down and activate the other sagittaruis switch which is a timed thing so I rush back but when I touch the switch to unseal the gate it says I need to go someplace else in order for this to work. If you have a complete way to do this please let me know what it is I'm doing wrong because I've tried to go thru other paths and so far no luck. Please help me.

I can try to help you get Excalibur (which I have obtained) but I have not reached the Zodiak Estucheon yet.

Okay, so you know how to get to XX, correct? From there you must go to the Sagitarrius gate stone (there are two paths - take either one... it loops back). Once you touch the stone, race back to XX (you are on a time limit) and head for Sagitarrius Gate II. Notice, there are two Sagitarrius Gates at platform XX. You want to touch Gate II before time runs out to open it. If, for some reason, Gate II will not open on the first try, open Gate I first. Then, repeat the process to open Gate II. You cannot have both Gates open at the same time, so one will close when the other is open.

Now, once you have Sagitarrius Gate II open, head through it to XII. Use the waystone to go to XIV. From there, two path are available. One leads up, one leads down. Go down. If you see the Leo Gate stone, you've gone the wrong way! Three platforms later, two paths are available. Take the path on the right. It leads to a dead end with a treasure, which is the Excalibur room.

Now, the treasure there is random, so you may not get Excalibur on the first try. Also, you must have at least one member of your party equipped with a diamond armlet to get it. If you fail to get it, go back at least three platforms to reset the treasure and try again.

It took me about half a dozen tries to get it, but it is worth the effort. Let me know if this helped or if you need more details?!

ok, I've found a guide that tells you how to get the esper called Ultima (I presume you mean that one. Maybe you gave the Japanese name for it?). Anyway, this bit I'm about to post is taken from a guide off of another site written by site member named aldoteng, so this is in no way written by me.
Although, I've already got this esper and I remember having to go through loads of different gates so this certainly sounds accurate to me, but not 100% sure though.

I've also deleted the beginning of this guide, starting you from Way Stone XX which is where you know how to get to already.

Anyway, here it is...

Ultima
Obtainable after the completion of all Giruvegan events.
You will be travelling through a deeper portion of The Great Crystal, where lvl 60+ enemies abound.

Take either left or right paths, both of which lead to the Sagittarius Gate Stone. Activate it and return to Way Stone XX. Open Sagittarius Gate I and travel to Way Stone XI, which transports you to Way Stone XIII.

Take the ascending path and activate the Gemini Gate Stone. Take the next ascending path. Ignore Gemini Gate I and take the available path to Gemini Gate II. Open it and take either available paths to eventually reach and use Way Stone XV, which transports you to Way Stone XVI.

Take the center path to reach the Libra Gate Stone. Activate it and return to Way Stone XVI; turn right and reach the next area to open Libra Gate I.

The next area has three exits; take the left path reach and use the Capricorn Gate Stone. Return to the previous map, turn right and continue on to Way Stone XVI.

Travel straight ahead down the descending path to open Capricon Gate I and activate the Virgo Gate Stone.

Return to Way Stone XVI, turn right and pass the Libra Gate Stone, take the left path, and in the next map unlock Virgo Gate I to your right. Head to the next map and take the left path to reach and use Way Stone XVII, which transports you to Way Stone XVIII.

Head to the next map and use the save crystal (recommended!).

Take the center path to reach Ultima.
