hey, i've had my PS2 for almost a year now and i can't seem to understand why it refuses to play DVD movies. all my friends with a PS2 have had no difficulty in this. it works perfectly on DVD games, and CDs. but i can't play DVd films.

the PS2 i have is one of the new slim models, and its says in the manual that it's supposed to play DVDs. but when i insert a movie nothing happens it doesn't recognise it on the screen the only thing it reads is my memory card.
please help

im not a expert but i had the same problem. heres wat i did.
S1.put it in.
S2.reset 3 times.
S3.power it down from the front.
S4.then the back.
S5.wait 5-10 seconds then turn it back on compleatly.
S6. reset 3 more times.
S7. wait.


there it should work if u follo that as it is.


and if that doesnt work then get a new 1.
