 wont play dvds my playstation has just stopped playing dvds is there anything i can do myself?       |

 Re: wont play dvds They still spin fine, just can't be read? You may want to check the discs for any dirt or smudged fingerprints- if there are any wipe them off with a soft cloth, going from the center out. Do not wipe around with the grooves. Your DVD lens may also have become a bit dirty, in which case get yourself a DVD lens cleaner kit, available at any electronics stores/ department stores. One other thing that may have happened is the lens got misaligned- to fix this requires taking the top off and fixing it directly, which i don't recommend unless you really know what you are doing. If none of the above work give Sony's tech support a call. |
