| can I download linux (using ps3 browser) into a cd or usb then install it? |

| I don't think there are jump drives large enough out there to handle the size of files that are with the installer. It pretty much has to be downloaded via computer and copied onto a DVD. |

| The main install file is 4 GB in size- you would need the largest USB jump drive you can find to hold it to transfer over to someone's computer for burning. The file itself is an .iso file (meaning it is a copy of the disc image) so installing directly from the jump drive would not work. As i mentioned in the other thread about Yellow Dog, read up about it before making the decision to try it. You can easily mess up your system if you do not know what you are doing. |
