Exclamation Surround sound

Hey guys,

First question upon my return. I have a Sony 5.1 channel DTS reciever, while playing games, watching a movie or even just TV, I will hear a click coming from the reciever and the volume will get really low and I will lose my centre channel.

I checked the manual and it claims that I may have some sort of short in the system. Any ideas what my short could be and how to fix it? The reciever is warm to the touch but certainly not hot. I am using a fibre optic cable for my audio hook up.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Rex...

Check your speaker connection to the back of the receiver and make sure the exposed ends are not touching anything other than the connector that its plugged into. Other than that, go over the whole wire for the center channel speaker with a good eye and see if you have anything exposed there as well.
