Every once in a while, a perfectly performing controller (both the one that came with the system and a secondary one, both official playstation accessories) will stop responding (an analog stick or button will go dead for a split second). I've seen some talk about it at various other places via google, but is this a documented PS3 bug or something only a handful of people are experiencing?

It's only been documented by various forum posts- nothing official ever came from Sony about it. I did notice something like this happening to me on occasion when I was playing Ridge Racer 7, usually when trying to make some particularly tight series of turns. Haven't had it happen with any other games as of yet. Might just be a glitch in programming in the game itself.

Ah, it also occurred several times during a Resistance: Fall of Man Co-op playthrough.
