 set top box i have recently bought a ps3 and have a set top box provided by virgin media is there anyway possible to connect the ps3 to this i have telephoned virgin about this and they told me i may need a seperate modem but two different people at sony have told me two different things one person said it would work and someone else said it was not compatible come on now surely i am not the only person on the planet thats broadband connection is through a set top box. i have tried using a router ( pc line from pc world) it said attempt to obtain a ip address timed out.      |

 Re: set top box Using the router should work. If you can get into its settings set up a specific IP address for the PlayStation 3 (you'll find the how-to's among several threads I've answered in the PS3 Hardware / Accessory help section) and edit that into the connection setting you have set up on the PS3. You may also have to add in additional numbers such as the DNS servers, subnet mask and router IP. |
