restarted FF 8 yesterday, and remember Quistis had a Blue Magic ability called Shockwave Pulsar that did 5-digit damage. *i know there's an item i can refine from 100 Curse Spikes, which i usually get from Malboros on the Island Closest to He..(?). *also haven't gotten Siren to level 100 yet (a requirement to refine this item).
Question 1--is there a faster way to get the item (might be called Dark Matter) for Quistis to learn Shockwave Pulsar?
Question 2--there's at least one other item Siren needs to be at level 100 to refine; what's the item? *i think it's a Shaman Stone, but not sure.

Right, you are looking for Dark Matter, which is refined from 100 Curse Spikes. *Also, Shaman Stone is a 100th level refine as it comes from a Dark Matter. *One thing you may want to keep in mind, by transferring Curse Spikes through a Dark Matter you can get 100 Ultimas (1:1 transformation, you just have to use the Dark Matter as the intermediate) or a Luck-J Scroll. *You can get Curse Spikes a little easier by Card Moding Tri-faces, or by mugging Tri-faces.

[color=blue] The thing with FF8 and the items thing is pretty confusing at first. Quistis neads the dark matter to learn a special ability. Combing items creates newer ones that can and might be used for battle or to learn new things. Same for the weapons when you want to make newer ones. Hope this helps out Squal9999:biggrin:

i just finished the Card Queen side quest, but i'm missing one card. *well, three cards. *i know Dr. Odine has the Ward card and Laguna has the Squall card, but i'm drawing a blank on this last one. *i can't even remember the name of it.
it's at the end of the list of Level 9 cards.

something during the Shumi Village side quest has me wondering. *this is a *Spoiler* people, don't read it if you haven't done the Shumi side quest.

after the three Shumis finish the statue of Laguna, the Elder and the Master Fisherman from FH start talking. *the Master Fisherman says "Somehow i'm not getting that feeling of completion..." *and he plays the music from the concert at FH. *is there something i'm supposed to have done that i don't know about, or is he just talking about the music? *i'm curious, because the words 'feeling of completion' are highlighted in yellow letters.
i played 'Eyes on Me' at the concert, and the Master Fisherman plays the other composition at Shumi Village. *i haven't tried playing the other composition to see if the Master Fisherman will play 'Eyes on Me' at Shumi Village.
*also, Rinoa always complains about the music during the concert at FH. *do certain characters play the instruments better?
