Silverback, having not played this game myself, the only advice i can give is too check the instruction manual that came with the game, it will tell you how to save in that...

Hey there by now im sure you will have figured it out but if you have not read below
at the end of the level the game should give you the option to save
there you go but i cant remember the last time i played on it but i have completed it.
