Try opening the cover and closing it.

What has happened is the disc has either stopped spinning or the lens has stopped reading the disc. By either opening the cover will get the disc spinning again or get the lens reading.

Is the disk badly scrached? If so, I've found disk repair kits can help depending on how deep the scraches are. Before going down this road, try the game on someone elses PSX :helpme:

This maybe because .....
1. Your disk may have very deep scratches on it .
2. Your lens may have a lot of dust on it .. get a Lens cleaner and clean it ...
And as Rex 77 said try opening the cover and closing it when the loading sign appears ... this does work !!
Hope i helped ....
