does anyone know where i can get a new laser from for my psx 1 mine is faulty and some times it wont load games

Considering current prices I'd be more apt to just go out and buy a new PSOne-by the time you buy the laser and get someone to put it in you'd have probably paid the same amount.[/SIZE]

It sounds like your laser may be out of adjustment, thus "scraping" your disks. Take it to a local repair shop and ask them to readjust the laser. Cost is about $35.00 US.

As Lyndon stated, the cost of purchasing a new laser combined with the shop rate(s) to install the device would make it much more cost-effective to purchase a new PS One.

The lowest prices I have found are:

Laser - $39.95
Labor - $49.95

That is a total of $89.90 NOT including S&H.

A new PS One is $100.00…you do the math.
