Alie, it may be easier for you to download the update on your computer and then transfer that onto the memory stick. Check out the Tutorial: PSP Firmware thread stuck to the top of this section for the how and where-to's.

hey dont install u.s update install custom update(firmware) so you can use homebrew and emuelaters.
