I tried this once before but it got deleted after our first problem with the server and this time around i will be doing this very differently...oh i guess i should tell you what i will be doing in my corner(stop trying to look, keep to your own cubicle). I will be doing music reviews in here, but only one(when i have a chance) and it'll be done hopefully everyday. First i'll complete all the titles that i own then i shall move onto other projects. I will start this tomorrow night and with this topic being read-only for you all and pinned, it won't be very easy to miss. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming. If you would like me to review an album, please hit the PM button below and send me a message. I will let you know when/if I can do it for you.

AMERICAN HEADCHARGE - tHE WAr oF ArT Who are they you ask? Just one of the many cds that i own that i feel are good enough to be a part of any hard rock fan's collection. American Headcharge reminds me very much of Hatebreed as well as a couple other groups you will learn about in upcoming weeks. The record label, American has brought us System of a Down in the past and this offering in 2001 is top notch. Imagine a cd that is hard all the way through with just enough hardcore and actual singing to make this cd even more enjoyable than just listening to the great music. From the first song, titled A Violent Reaction to the last one, Nothing Gets Nothing, you will be pulled in and the world around you will seem to stop...or is that spiraling...anyway you look at it though, it's good stuff. This cd isn't for everyone though and if you don't enjoy hard rock or you can't live with cursing then stay the F*** away from this title as it will use many ******* words but not enough where you have to hide the children. Stay tuned for tomorrow's installment, which is scheduled to be "Biohazard". Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

Biohazard - Uncivilization If you like hard rock then this title is just what you have been looking for. They have been around since the early '90s but they have kept changing along with the times and with their newest offering even bring Igor Cavalera(Sepultura), Slipknot, Sen Dog(Cypress Hill), Jamie Jasta(Hatebreed) and many more to the table showing just what type of music they plan on doing. This title is powerful throughout the cd and you will want to listen from beginning to end just to hear what's next. If you enjoy Pantera, Hatebreed, and other hard rock groups such as these then you will enjoy this album and i recommend this with high possiblities for purchase. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and check back later today because a planned review of Nelly's new title Nellyville is scheduled.

Nelly - Nellyville This, the newest release by rapper Nelly has brought us some of the best music that i have heard on a rap/Hip-Hop album in quite some time. Guest appearances by Cedric the Entertainer, Justin Timberlake, and Kelly Rowland(Destiny's Child) bring a very nice sound to this cd. The first hit song from it, "Hot in Herre" was produced by the Neptunes and shows exactly what direction Nelly was going with this LP. I will highly recommend this title to anyone that enjoy Hip-Hop or rap as it has a little of both worlds....more Hip-Hop than anything else though. Nelly has brought us a great new cd and expect him to make many new ones in upcoming years. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and check back tomorrow for a look into Korn's Untouchables, their newest album.

KoRn - Untouchables Talking about epic albums, this is the best of the best for Korn fans. This cd has it al from the hard riffs and singing to soft beats and some good old fashioned Korn tongue lashing. These fourteen new tracks show just the direction that Korn has decided to take their music. The combination of melody and hard rock hasn't ever been as seamless as can be seen here. It may have taken 3 years for this new cd to come out but this is only because David Silveria had surgery to remove an extra rib. I would highly recommend this cd for any fans of hard rock....especially all you KoRn kids out there. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and tune in tomorrow for a review on Hatebreed's new album, Perseverence. Edit - Taking the night off, back on the 3rd.

Hatebreed - Perseverence We all have bands that we hear and you think, wow, this is really good....well this is how this was with me on this title. I absolutely loved this from the beginning until the end. It starts hard and ends hard...what else can i say about that. I must say that the songs are a bit short at about an average of 2.5 mins/song....but that doesn't take away from the hard beauty within. If you enjoyed American Headcharge then this cd will definitely be of great interest to you. If i were to give this a rating out of 5 then this would get a 4.9/5 because it's the epitome of hardcore rock. I recommend that you check this cd out for yourself and see how you like it though. If you have any requests for me to review then please post it in my review request thread pinned in this forum. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and tune in tomorrow to hear about Petey Pablo and his "1st Entry: Diary of a Sinner".

Petey Pablo - Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry Representing North Carolina and VA, Petey Pablo brought us his debut album, produced by Timbaland(Bubba Sparxxx producer). At first i was highly skeptical of how this cd would sound since the first single, "Raise Up" was only an average song in my opinion but after hearing some more of the album, i was hooked..and am actually listening to it as i type this up. My two favorite songs are "I" and "Funroom". One thing that i can say about this is that he says his name too many times....I mean, we bought the album so i think we know who you are...but other than that this cd is right up there as my favorite Hip-Hop albums. If you're a fan of East Coast Rap/Hip-Hop then this is a cd that you will want to check out. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and tune in tomorrow as i do a review of Default, as requested by Mrs. Speedie.

Flaw - Through the Eyes This is hard rock combined with soft rock with seamless intricacy. I have to say that i was a bit skeptical about buying this cd because on the outside it sounded much too slow for my taste but once i got into it i must say that i enjoyed it very much! If you enjoy listening to hard or soft rock, then it's possible that you may want to check this one out. I highly recommend this cd, especially those that enjoy good rock. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and tune in tomorrow for a review of Offspring's Conspiracy of One. EDIT - Taking the night off because i'm not feeling well, i will have the next review tomorrow evening. EDIT2 - Still sick so still no review yet. Hopefully i'll post one tonight...We'll see. EDIT3 - Well, give me a couple days and hopefully i'll be back strong.

Rob Zombie - The Sinister Urge Info: Rob Zombie, born Rob Cummings, is best known as the dreadlocked, Jourgenson-esque vocalist and songwriter for the industrial-influenced heavy metal band White Zombie. Rob formed White Zombie in New York City in 1985 with bassist Sean Yseult, then guided it to international stardom with several innovative albums that made the band stand out in a world of heavy metal clones, most notably 1995's double platinum selling Astro Creep: 2000. By the late '90s, however, Rob Zombie had begun to branch out into other areas, including production and remixing, artist management (he co-manages his brother's band, Powerman 5000), and film direction (The Crow 3). In 1998 Zombie announced he was launching his very own record label, Zombie A-Go-Go, distributed through Geffen Records (White Zombie's label); the imprint's first two signees were the Ghastley Ones and the Bomboras, both influenced by White Zombie's ghoulish sound and look. That same year he also began a solo career with an appearance on the Korn Family Values summer tour. Zombie made his solo recording debut in the summer of '98 with the release of Hellbilly Deluxe on Geffen Records. American Made Music To Strip By, released the following year, was a collection of remixes of the music on Hellbilly Deluxe. Article by: Seth Hindin I will say that the house of 1000 corpses is one of the strangest as well as one of my favs from this cd. This was submitted to me by Lucifer through PM. If anyone else would like to submit a review(with release subject to my appoval) then PM or email me anytime and i will check it out and make sure it's what i'm looking for. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming and hopefully i will add a new review myself soon.

Linkin Park - Reanimation Sometimes it takes time to cut a new album, sometimes it doesn't, it all dpends on the magnitude that the artist is looking to make with this new LP. Reanimation is a new cd from LP but it is not their new album and they're not trying to use it as one. They want to give all their fans something new to hear while working on the new album. What does this "album" bring to the table you ask? Well, the remixes are hot on the market now and LP uses the underground rap scene as well as some scratching, techno, and the ever popular hard rock and molding it into one hard hitting cd. If you enjoyed the studio album then this will be a great cd to get. If you're looking for a new LP cd or just a cd in general then this may be the cd for you if this is the type of music that you enjoy. I will mention that some of the guests include Jonathan Davis from Korn, Aaron Lewis from Staind, Pharoahe Monche, X-ecutioner's, Motion Man, DJ Babu, and Kutmasta Kurt to name a few. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

It's been a while since i've even given this much thought but i recently decided that i'd add a couple. I just got Kittie: Oracle, The Cradle 2 the Grave OST, 50 Cent: Get Rich or Die Tryin', T.A.T.U.: 200 KM/H in the Wrong Lane, and i'll throw a little System of a Down, Reveille, Insolence, 8 Mile OST, and some others for good measure. These may start soon or maybe not but i'll post them as i finish the reviews. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

Evanescence - Fallen Dark, moody, melodic, soft when it wants to and hard when it needs to be, that is the best way to describe Amy Lee's lyrics in Evanescence's debut title. Fallen takes you on a journey through the darkness that is life and shows you that it's ok to show how you truly feel. To explain this music would be trying to explain the unexplainable. A mixture of genres that aren't usually mixed and done with such interesting fashion that it draws you in and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. This music begs to be listened to and be enjoyed. This title was an excellent purchase and was worth the money spent. If i were to rate this title on a scale of 10 then i'd have to give it a 7.3/10 as it's a good title but there are some downs to it(such as only being 11 songs on the cd). Well, until next time this is madhtr saying enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

(hed) p.e. - Blackout Wow, what is there to say about this rap(used loosely)/metal mesh? An excellent combination of strong beats, excellent guitar riffs, and som of the best vocals i have heard in quite some time. If you have listened to either of Hed P.E.'s past cds and liked them then you won't be disappointed in this outting by Jahred and gang. One bad thing is that shortly after recording this cd, longtime guitarist Chad Benekos left the band, but former Snot and Amen guitarist and longtime friend of the band Sonny Mayo was signed as a replacement. This change, which you'd expect would shake the group up has actually made the group even better and gives than an even better sound than before. I must say i can't wait for their first new cd including their new guitarist. So, to sum things up, if you like (hed) p.e. or are just a fan of good hard rock then this is a perfect cd for you. Since it just came out it may be on sale at a music store near you(purchased my copy for $8.99) so go check it out. Also, you can listen to the group if you click the link i have on the title of the cd. Well, until next time, this is madhtr signing out.

Linkin Park - Meteora Only a few days before it's release(March 25th), i had the pleasure to listen to the new Linkin Park cd(gotta love working at a cd store) and thought i'd let you in on why you're going to be buying it..... errr....I mean why you should buy it. This cd adds hard new guitars, strong beats, hard vocals mixed with a little rap to create a unique rap/metal mix that makes Linkin Park just that good. The first single 'Somewhere I belong' is an excellent song but it only seems to be the icing on the cake as you get into even better songs that follow it. If you liked Hybrid Theory and/or Reanimation then you'll be very pleased that there is a mixture of both, a mixture that isn't available in most rap/metal groups that are out there. The sophmore effort from LP is definitely a step-up and is definitely worth it. If i have one gripe about the cd though is that it's rather short with only 13 songs and only 36:41 in length but what it lacks in it's longitivity it makes up in LP's creativeness and originality. All-in-all one of the best new titles of 2003. Circuit City's price will be $10.99 for the regular version(Price Point is $14.99) and the Limited Edition version with a DVD(and some other extras) will be priced at $14.99(Price Point is $20.99). I haven't checked other areas for prices but at least you know around what the price will be. I hope all of you who decide to buy this cd(hopefully lots of you so we see LP around for awhile) enjoy it. Well, until next time, this is madhtr signing out.

Godsmack - Faceless Again with a pre-release review with Godsmack's followup to their hit album, "Awake". With the cd release(April 8th) on the horizon, i have taken the time to listen to the newest album and have come to the conclusion that 2003 is the year for hot rock albums(especially with Staind, Metallica, and limpbizkit in the next couple months). A whole lot harder than "Awake" and even on a par higher than the original self titled debut. The guitars are crisp, the bass is hard, and the vocals are right on. The hit song from the 'Scorpion King', "I Stand Alone" made it's way onto the cd and is just the turning page for this 12 track look into musical bliss. Hard rock fans rejoice with the reemergence of a hard rock great in Godmack. I would give this cd an 87% out of 100 if only for it's one major flaw being it's shortness, but it does make much of that up with it's power. Remember to stay tuned for the next update, you never know when it'll be with me and so in finality, this is madhtr signing out until next time.

Artist: Daniel Bedingfield Album: Gotta Get Thru This (UK Version; Special Edition) Daniel Bedingfield was one of the success stories of last year, creating his own number one single, Gotta Get Thru This, in his bedroom after being rejected by many different record labels. The album is of varied genre, from Garage, RnB, Some pop and ballads with a bit of rock as well. Gotta Get Thru This is fast pace garage and one of the strongest tracks on the album. Honest Questions and If You’re Not the One are two of the best ballads, and you can feel that DB has really put his heart into creating these tracks. Friday and He Don’t Love You Like I Love You are two fast paced songs that are driven by the guitar. They’re very simple, but nice to listen to. In fact, most of the tracks on this album have mainly the guitar as the main instrument. There’s a bit of rapping in Blown it Again, but not by Daniel Bedingfield, but it fits in with the song. Quite a few of the tracks could have been a reworking of some Michael Jackson songs, and there are bits of Prince influence as well. [7/10] Review submitted by: crashkart Review © the writer

| Artist: Good Charlotte Album: The Young And hopeless The world is divided between those who think that Good Charlotte is punk and those that do not. Certainly their songs do not have the intensity of other punk outfits such as Rancid. However, this album mixes punk rock in the first half of the album with the slower stuff towards the end. The Anthem is in my opinion the best song of the album, and is about being yourself and not following the crowd (now where have we heard that before)? Despite that it is a really fast paces song with fantastic drumming. My Old Man as about the story of brothers Benji and Joel’s Dad whose father left them when they were 16, and is a really well crafted song that is also funny at the same time. Girls and Boys is their next UK single, and takes the piss out of girls and boys not really liking each other but for their money and bodies. Riot girl is about a ‘riot girl’ who hates Britney, and whom Christina wouldn’t want to meet. It’s driven on by the electric guitars and has some humorous lyrics. Wondering shows more of the vocal talent and is one of the softer tracks that will appeal to you if you like more easy listening. Emotionless and Hold On are the two most deer and lifting songs on the album, and you have to listen to the lyrics to understand what they mean. Movin’ On is the last track, and has lots of shouted vocals and is a fantastic end to this album and really uses the energy of the band. A fantastic mix of different styles. | Staind - 14 Shades of Grey 14 tracks of emotions about sums up the newest release from Staind. Aaron Lewis pulls off soft lyrics, making them work so well to good hard beats with some of the most beautiful guitarwork i've heard in recent years. Lewis can nearly bring you to tears in "Zoe Jane", a song about his daughter but yet the song shows just how far along himself and Staind have come along in recent years. The 1st single from the cd, Price to Play is actually the 1st song on the cd and is also the first of one of the most memorable cds i've listened to in quite some time. Staind is back once again with this album and they're running very strong. To sum things up, Staind is worth every penny of the $9.99 that i'll be paying for it once it's released and it would be worth even paying the normal price, because it's that good. The first series of releases of 14 Shades of Grey comes shipped with a Limited Edition DVD that is 45 minutes in length and has some live footage of the band. The CD also has material that you can access on your PC such as music videos. To sum things up, Staind is definitely at the forefront of the music business and continue to push their way to the top with their newest album that releases May 20th. I give Staind - 14 Shades of Grey a 5 out of 5 in the madhtr scoring system. Stay tuned for more reviews from madhtr as he finds the need and the time to do so. |
