I have sent in almost every registration card for the games and peripherals I've purchased. Including PS and PS2 that's quite a few, well alot actually.

I have received a few postcards asking if I would like to purchase subscriptions, but never once any free stuff. No a hat, t-shirt, or demo disc.

Is it just me or has this been the case with others?

Are you supposed to get free stuff?
I too have sent my cards in (just beacuse I like the thought that somewere out there is some one taking an interest in me) but never have I gotten anything back. Not even a card for my birthday.

So I guess you're not alone.

I register every appliance and gaming console I buy and I've never gotten any free goodies either! I think it's a conspiracy, against all us APIers!! Let's protest!!!

No, really, I think it's normal that they don't send free goodies, I don't think that's the point, I think it's just as a 'safeguard'...... of some sort, I just don't know what.

I never get anything out of sending the cards either-mostly it's to get an idea of the demographics of who's buying their stuff and also for the off chance something happens (the 90 day waranty they speak of in the back of the books). Some of the companies do make draws for stuff every month or so-it'll say on the card if they do.

I always get a joy out of filling all those cards out, but never actually send them. So I don't even care if I get free stuff or not. Personally, it's all the more glorious when I have worked for what I buy. It's just a great feeling. I don't really need a free T-shirt or hat or anything and nor do I want any because I feel like I need to earn it myself. Maybe it's just me, but I don't really care whether or not I get a free thing. I usually end up throwing it away anyway...so it's kind of a waste of time.

I've received a hat, a game/CD case, three magazines w/demo discs, and for asking, playable demos of hitman2 and timesplitters2. It took quite a while, though. I can take or leave the other stuff, but I dig the demos big time.

I did get a couple hats from Sony though from something i registered...Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

Must be nice your company hiring? The only free thing I get is listening to a bunch of over aged losers whine about how S*!t there life is.

And no I don't hate you, I try not hate anybody.

Bad day at work today

Yeah, we're(Circuit City) is hiring. They're going to have to replace me soon, my deepest apologies to them on that front, once i move this March. Yeah, i won an Xbox, Gamecube, and a Surround Sound System for my PS2 this year(and an Xbox the year before, which i had sold). I am now in the process of selling my stuff now....The PS2 was just sold for $150 with a bid of $115 for my Xbox right now...Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

I sent in a registration card for my PSX a while ago, like over 6 years ago. What have I got out of it so far? Well, for one, the pleasure of knowing that someone has my details. And for two, well, maybe there is no two.... <_<

I get all my stuff through work anyway, so far i've got a free copy of Capcom vs. SNK 2, a BMX XXX pen (the chick on the pen loses her clothes when you turn it upside-down ), and a 'The Thing' T-shirt. Not too bad considering i'm only part-time.

I try not to register for anything, even if they wave a carrot in front of me. The selling of information and personal details is big business.

When you register for practically anything this information (name and address) may then be sold on to a 3rd party information broker organisation. This information will in turn be sold to all the junk mail companies etc and that’s why you get loads of stuff through your door and emails from people and organisations you have never contacted or even heard of.

I never use store cards or anything like that either for the same reason and I generally pay cash for everything.

Whenever you use your cards the information is stored and then sold on to other 3rd parties. If somebody wants to know my spending patterns then they’ll have to ask me personally rather than just looking it up on some database – cus I ain’t on them!

No damn copper’s going to take me alive or access my spending history!!!!!

I better go – I think I hear those damn black helicopters again………….

It’s a conspiracy I tell ya……..a conspiracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
