Now don't worry mcw, I won't ruin the book for you, just the ending.
I'll PM you with the ending when I've read it by Sunday ish, ok man?
You don't mind do you? Of course you don't

hehem, seriously though man, I'm not like that. It's not fair spoiling the ending of anything, let alone a multi-million (possibly billion) pounds series of books like Harry Potter.
I mean, some people have been waiting er 10, is that the right amount or is it more?, er 10 years ish to finally find out what happens and how this all plays out.

Let us hope J K does not let us down. I doubt she will, because she is an amazing author. Just a pity they didn't manage to really grab the essence of the fifth book in the fifth film. Now THAT was a real let down for me, well the ending was I mean. They totally scrapped the entire speech Dumbledore gives Harry, I mean hello, that is the main part of the book, where harry learns of what happened that night when he was still a baby and his parents died by old Voldy.
What a mess of things they made, ruining a great film franchise just by getting rid of 5 maybe 10 minutes tops worth of conversation time.
Anyone disagree with me about the ending of Order and the Pheonix (the film version I mean)? I very like doubt it.

Jay

I'm not so worried about you spoiling it, it's just I know that random internet surfing could lead to me reading the ending by accident (Like a spam email or something), so I am on edge right now

I think whatever way it plays out, people will be unhappy. That's just how it goes. But, I know how much stress J.K. has been under, so the fact that she has any kind of legitimate ending is amazing in itself.

Sounds like you enjoyed the film . I have yet to see it, I will probably hold out for the DVD, but I have heard similar sentiments across the internet. Everyone hates that they have to cut and nip away parts from the book that are too meaningful to lose. It's too bad. I'd prefer my memories of the series be held in the book form, in my mind, than chopped up and in a movie. Still, it made a ton of money, so WB is pretty happy right now.

Jay, do you have the book pre-ordered anywhere? I've got mine pre-ordered from Amazon... they are going to deliver it Saturday by Noon supposedly. I can't wait . On the other hand, I will not be playing video games for the next month. Too bad.

Do I have it preordered? DO I HAVE IT PREORDERED?
Where do people come up with such stupid questions? Of course I have it preordered.
Like I said when I was joking about telling you the ending, I'll get it Saturday and hopefully have it finished by Sunday or Monday at the latest.
That's about how long it took me to read book 6, which is similar length to book 7 I believe.

Speed reader I sooo am not; however, I FINALLY finished it today, better late than never, right?
You see, in the case of Half Blood Prince, I had no internet connection at home so I had nothing to distract me from my goal of finishing it, hence why I had it done within about 15-20 hours total, tops.

Because of the internet, which I now have at home, that time slipped astronomically to like practically, more or less, a full week with Deathly Hallows

I was not entirely surprised with you know who (won't mention his name as it will spoil the story for people who haven't got that far yet). I was never totally convinced he was on the "other" side, and book seven confirmed my inklings.

And what about the whole "two or three main characters die", I would say it was nothing like 2 or 3, won't say how many but it certainly was NOT 2 or 3.

The way it ends is brilliant as well, I think J K did brilliantly, everyone loves a happy ending, whether they want to admit it or not lol
