Hi Guys, I have around 20Gb of music that I would like to transfer through to my PS3. I have a wirelss network set up which works fine. How do I go about sending my files to be saved on the PS3? Chris

The easiest way to transfer them over (if you want them right on the hard drive) is to use a flash memory stick or thumb drive, copy the songs onto that and then copy onto the PS3. Granted, this would take some time to do as it would be a number of trips between the pc and the PS3. That is just about your only option to actually copy onto the drive. Considering how some games have been having mandatory installs of up to 5 GB you may want to save that hard drive space and consider doing the media sharing- the music would not be on the drive but instead be streamed over your wireless network to the PS3 from the PC. You would need to turn on the media sharing from within Windows (covered that in some threads in the PS3 Console section further down the main page)- a search through Microsoft's knowledge base will turn up how to do this for your system. Then it's a matter of just doing a search for the server on the PS3.

Hi, I have treid setting up my PC as you say and stream the music over the network. I have gone into the media sharing in my Windows media Player and set all files to be shared to ther devices. When I go into the playstation and search for media servers, it says that no media servers were found. I am hoping this has nothing to do with the firewall! Any help would be great. Chris

You do also have to activate the ability to see the servers on the PS3. Go into the Settings menu and down to network Settings. In here you will find the Media Server Connection- go in here and Enable this.

You could also try TVersity (free download to PC), i use this to stream music and photos to PS3, works like a dream and really easy to set up.
