i have just down loaded the 2.40 up date foe ps3 im prety impressed the friends list has been increased to 100 and the adding of the new trophys thing for profiles is cool also now having the ability to read messages wile playing a game is good to but thing is were is this playstation worldg were you create a sim type world were you can meet up with ppl and stuff. they were talking bout it a year ago??? wen are we going to finaly get it dose any one no????

Related to the 2.4 update, when you unlock a trophy, is there a setting you can change to make the "Trophy Unlock" sound happen? On the Playstation Blog, Lempel said that there would be a trophy unlock confirmation sound, but he didn't specify it is was in 2.4 or in a future update.

K, just wondering. I haven't heard any sound when unlocking trophies.

I figured it out just now I had "KEYTONE" in the main sound settings on PS3 dashboard set to Off (It's that click click sound you hear as you switch between stuff on your XMB ). When I cut it on and went back to my game, I heard the ping noise when I unlocked a trophy. It definitely isn't noticeable though.

But if anyone has keytone set to "OFF", you will not hear the "Trophy Notification".

True, but I'd imagine in an intense game of Resistance 2 Multiplayer, with 50 people shooting at you, you could possibly miss a little ping sound and a box at the corner of the screen.

One thing I've noticed is that the trophies have to be synchronized (By clicking Trophies on your main XMB ) so that they show on your GamerCard. Otherwise, the card isn't up to date. Have you noticed that too Lyndon?

For example, I finished a game (In which I unlocked 1 trophy), watched an hour of a Blu-ray disc, then went to look at my gamercard, and the trophy wasn't listed on it. After "Synchronizing My Trophies", it showed up on the card. Seems kind of odd.

Have you seen the Gametrailers footage of the Multiplayer (and aso the single player) anyone. After seeing that i was blown away! It looks completely crazy...

Yeah, i think they've got a lot to tweak now 2.4 has come out. The amount of problems and niggles in the update has let it down a little. Like having to sync the trophies and the limited in-game XMB access, it seems to me like there was maybe either a little laziness (in the PS Network department), or they weren't given enough time.

I'm looking at it like this- the foundations are now there in 2.4, it's just now all the more minor updates we'll get (2.45 etc) are going to have to be a little more important regarding the various tweaks they need to do.

And, i really hope developers are going to start patching trophies into their games soon. I know Burnout is doing this (it's also brilliant that Criterion are making them retroactive), but what about first party titles like Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted etc. And the third-party titles (the hugely popular ones for example) should be at the top of the list. I'd love to see trophies being patched into them and many other games soon, and they should all be retroactive, at least. Of course i'm not counting on this happening...
