![]() Probably one of the best games available for the PSP, and certainly one of the longest, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is incredible in every sense of the word. Graphics....awesome. Gameplay...awesome. Quests......awesome. If you like MMO's, Fantasy or Action-Adventure games, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 will not disappoint in the least. The quests can become exceedingly complex and exciting real quick. This is not for the casual gamer however, as many quests are well-known for being quite lengthy...and trust me, many of them are. Within these quests are also many "mini quests". Do not expect to sit down for 20 minutes and think you will get through a quest....at least not after the first 5 or 6 anyway. I have had some single quests take as long as 2+ hours. There are times when you may have to complete a dozen or so "sub quests" or secondary quests before getting to a "full quest". I have had a full quest last me as long as 3 days (4-6 hours each day) to complete. The "standard" beasts one must slay can be difficult to beat, and the "Final monster" of each quest is, well...more than a challenge; but not so much so that it is impossible. But you do have to work at it, and use your thinking skills in addition to your stalking and wise use of available weaponry. You can not simply face-off with brute force and expect to slay the final monster of each quest. Quite simply, you don't stand a chance if this is your strategy after the 3rd full-blown quest. (Not wise on the 1st or 2nd quest neither, but it can be done). Monster Hunter Freedom 2 also has online/multi-player capabilities, which is a bonus with some of the monsters/beasts you are pitted against. If you do hook up with another player to help you defeat a beast, you and the other player split the "booty", and then can go your separate ways again. There was one quest (7th I believe it was) where it took myself and 3 other players 1 hour and 40 minutes to slay the final monster of a quest...and we all had good armor and powerful weapons at our disposal...and we were assaulting it almost non-stop. A fantastic, well involved and in depth game that will not disappoint in any manner. Certainly a LOT of bang for your buck with this game. The only downside is that the game does have a fairly steep learning curve. There are a LOT of moves, functions and extras one must learn before becoming proficient enough to start quests that earn the player any sort of money or usable items. How does the game end? When I get there, I will let you know. So far I have recorded 437 hours play/game time, and I'm not even close to finishing it. I don't play it every day, but I do play it 2-3 times a week, 2-3 hours per session.
