Basically it's just a little fun thing to have. The ranks in APi don't give you anything new or anything. The only thing you ever get extra is after you get 1000 posts then you can have a custom title, like mine says Vash the Stampede. So, the ranks are just for looks really. Well, i hope that you enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

<span style="font-family:arial">As mad said, the "ranking" is just a small extra that has no real meaning to it-we prefer to judge by what is posted instead of how many posts a member makes. My advice-ignore the rankings and just enjoy your visits to the forums! :disco: </span>

Actually it may not be totally useless. It can tell you at glance how experienced a poster would be to this site.

If someone asks how to use the tags and there is two replies in the thread one from an apprentice... (no offence to any apprentices in the forum)

You need to have the same tag at the end of the text, like this [i]your text here[i].

...or from an oracle, who replied with this...

You need to close the tag after the text you want altered. Like this
your text here.
Who would you trust?

Someone who has barely used the tags or someone who has used them possibly a thousand times?

Your 'rank' will go up with the number of posts you have made. The usual punishment for spam is to dock you post count according to the amount of spam you have posted in the forum. A little spam, a little taken off your total count, a lot of spam, a lot taken off your count. Usually if you get docked posts you are left with less then if you had never spammed in the first place.

Is the leveling system going to change my avatar too cause I see a lot of pictures that arent in the choices I had!?!

One other quick question... does anybody use the chat live and when. Whenever I am on I don't see anybody so I just go too Yahoo.

The level system doesn't effect the avatar choices, everyone can upload their own personal avatar... but only at certain times, just before an Avatar Award... unfortunately for you one has just passed, which means it will be between 2-3 month's before the next... they'll be more information regarding avatar changing before nearer the time.

The best time for LiveCHAT, is on Sunday's, when it's Trivia night, and it's normally packed. Otherwise you might get lucky if there is somebody else in there or it might be empty, although my advice is if nobody is in there, hang around for a bit and somebody might.

Just remember, respect isn't gained by how many post's you've made, it's the quality of post's you make!

My post was basically an extension Mad's and Lyndon's posts. I was merely trying to explain how at a quick glance you can see how experienced someone may be in the forum.

If you read Mad's post, Lyn's post then my post it should make perfect sense.

Basically he was saying that rank just shows what experience that member has had in the forums and that you'd probably trust something a higher ranking member said even if it contradicts what another member(who happens to be of a lower rank) tells you.

By the spam he was only saying don't try and post just to make your rank go up. How people think of you in these forums is by how you act and it alls shines through your posts so if you post alot of posts with no quality then you've probably gotten less respect from the member than if you'd never visited the forums before and those people didn't know you.

Well, i hope that you enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

No need to feel stupid, we were all new to this forum at one point or another.

Tags are what we use to alter our text in someway or another. We have the following tags.

Bold, italic, underline, <strike>strikethrough</strike>,
Quote:
quote
, url.

There are others but that gives you a general idea what the most common tags are.

To see how the to use the tags just click the 'quote' button provided with this post and you will see how the tags worked.

If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
