hi all i'm wondering if anyone has advice about where to look for information about obscure, unpopular, or otherwise unknown games in general i seem to be in this boat a lot. somehow i end up with games that are below everyone else's radar specifically, i'm trying to figure out how to unlock all the stages in King of Route 66, and i can't find a FAQ anywhere ... i've tried all the obvious sources (gaming and FAQ sites, google searches, etc) with no luck. unless it's in Japanese, heh anyway, if anyone knows an out-of-the-ordinary source that's a good place for info on little-known games, i'd appreciate it. thanks!

Erm, try typing king of route 66+faq into Google - this was the first thing i tried. Low and behold the first available link from the query led to a site with a link to a full English FAQ :disco: You might want to give it a whirl From the FAQ you can also backtrack (on the same site as the FAQ) to a codes section. eace:

thanks for the replies! madhatr -- the game in question is "King of Route 66" for PS2 i did say i tried all the obvious stuff. i should have said that i'd found a FAQ for the arcade (ARC) version (with the same google search you discribe), but none for the PS2 (if you found a PS2 FAQ didn't please IM me or something). it doesn't have what i'm looking for (but it DOES make me want to play the arcade version, which apparantly has an interactive CB radio?!!?). a few "codes" tell how to get medals, but they tell us that in the instruction booklet. the official game (sega) site, at least the english version, has minimal information as well, nothing that's not covered in the manual. i'm more curious than anything else. i'm sure if i keep playing all the stages will eventually open, but i wish i knew what the parameters were. then again, i may be the only one actually playing this game, heheh

Unlock Hidden Characters: Successfully complete the game in Rival Chase mode to unlock a Tornado trucker in versus mode. Note: A new character is unlocked each time this is done, for a total of five hidden truckers, in the following order: Bigfoot, Lizard Tail, Luna Queen, Danny Edge, & Mr. Crown. Route 66 Disco Option: Successfully complete the game in Queen Of Route 66 mode to unlock the "Route 66 Disco" option at the "Corkboard" screen. Collect emblems during game play to unlock more disco options. Queens in Bikinis: Get a "Gold" rank in each of the eight mini-games to see the Queens of each states in bikinis during Route 66 Disco mode. That's all the info that i could find on the game........and that's probably all that's out there right now. I'll keep checking for new stuff on the game and will let you know if i find one. Well, i hope that you all enjoy posting and have fun gaming.

i agree, that's all the infor there seems to be, and no mention of my "status completion" question [i have all of the above unlocked, btw, and still have only 83% complete, with 4 "question mark" stages yet to be opened] this game was supposed to be a silly diversion, not a new obsession! oh, well ... thanks again for looking!!

I’ll have a good root around for ya tomorrow – unfortunately I think it’s going to be one of those games that only the ‘obvious’ net finds will yield any info on (and all of that you already know). However, we can but try 'cus we're here to help
