Here's a little something for the American audience here. Konami is holding an official online tournament in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence starting on July 29 and ending September 17. This event is being sponsored and hosted by iGames and will allow players to compete across the nation to win metal Gear-related prizes along with national recognition as best in the nation.

The tournament will be a series of solo and team play matches which can be played from home or at iGames centers located throughout the US. Tourney matches are being held regularly each weekend and players can play in as many as they want. rankings will be done via the ELO ranking system, which judges overall skill instead of plain win/loss records. Top players/teams each day will win Metal gear merchandise such as t-shirts, games and accessories. Top players/teams over the entire tournament wll be facing off in a final elimination stage with winners earning prizes like HDTVs, in-game rewards and rare MGS memorabilia.
