Default PS3 - Virtua Fighter 5 Features

A few more details about Virtua Fighter 5 have come about thanks to a fact sheet Sega has released. Here are some of the highlights:
  • Costume change - There are a total of 17 default characters, each of whom you can modify their costume. This is done by selecting the four base costumes and modifying those with unlocked/ earned items. Several ways are available to gain new items for this: defeat particular opponents, compete for the prize, or just collect cash and buy it in-game.
  • New Characters - We have two new fighters to choose from, El Blaze and Eileen. El Blaze is similar to the WWE's Rey Mysterio and uses Lucha Libre-style wrestling moves while Eileen is a master of Monkey Kung Fu.
  • New moves - There's an "Offensive Move" technique now. It allows players to move around their opponent from the side. This will surely add a new strategic element to fights.
  • Next Gen Presentation - includes 720p HD resolution (widescreen) and 5.1-channel Dolby Digital surround.
Looks like things are coming together nicely. Virtua Fighter 5 comes our way in Spring 2007.
