According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine the next installment in the Ninja Gaiden series will be played on the PlayStation 3. Enitiled Ninga Gaiden Sigma, players will be playing as Rachel from Ninja Gaiden Black.

Back in early July Tomonobu Itagaki revealed Ninja Gaiden 2 was in the works but it is unknown if this is the same project. The possibility is this could be a remake of Black with some extra visuals and bonus content.

Previously Itagaki and Team Ninja have been devoutly loyal to the XBox 360 platform. Considering how the console has done so far in Japan, however, they may well be trying to reach a wider audience.

No release date was given. Maybe we'll find this out during the Tokyo Game Show starting in just 2 days.
