| Suqare-Enix have recently stated that they are looking into offereing equal amounts of games to each of the next-gen consoles. Acording to an article in The Wall Street Journal, Square-Enix senior vice president Michihiro Sasaki was reported saying, "We don't want the PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them. But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much." Square-Enix have already committed the following games to the following systems: PS3 Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantasy Versus XIII Wii Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen Tower of Mirrors XBOX360 Final Fantasy XI Project Sylpheed Square-Enix's other popular series, Kingdom Hearts, is, as yet, unconfirmed on which systems the series will be ported to. As popular as the Kingdom Hearts series is, this could lead to a boost in sales for that console, especially if it is only ported to the PS3. This would be a major boost to Sony's system as they are the only console to have the true continuation of the Final Fantasy series. We'll have to wait and see about the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but it looks a lot like Square-Enix will continue to go from strength to strength. |
